Kid-Vtek's Canadian EK build: CR-Vtec Turbo


So I decided to sell my ITR Recaros, I really loved those seats but my roll bar no longer allowed for reclining seats and my New Years resolution is the loose as much weight as possible.... Vehicle weight that is lol. I picked these guys up




I can't believe how light these things are!

My co-worker has me addicted to titanium.... This might get expensive....
I ordered a set of titanium lug nuts.

I'm in talks with JiaJun to have a custom 3" exhaust made entirely of titanium. With a full system only weighing 4kg this will shed a lot of weight.



I have some other ideas kicking around like making a custom strut brace made of titanium and possibly intercooler piping/intake as well... Stay tuned!

Small update:

Decided to Order a set of Status Ring GT seats, i tried looking online for a matching set of the T1R and they are now discontinued... and im not really digging having mismatching seats.

A great man once said, "if you want to go faster, just add more lightness..." that being said i ordered my shift knob haha. it is a Razo Japan rally shift knob which only weighs 46 grams! i have also ordered my harnesses im really excited to get them, you will see why later. Finally on the way is a Skunk 2 Ultra street manifold with a 74mm throttle body, i am very excited to see how well this manifold performs.

Today i got around to modifying my Mugen valve cover. Cut holes so i can adjust my Cam gears.



also drilled and welded on my breather AN fittings.

Sigh I no.... I'm having a hell of a time with my body guy. He recently moved into new building and he had to put in his new paint booth and the city is giving him grief about his air make up system and a bunch of fire safety regulations. Pretty much he has a stop work order until everything is up to code, so I can't really do much until everything gets cleared up. Frustrating to say the least :nono:

i wont be using this seat but i just wanted to see how they would look



 
got around to polishing my intake manifold, i am very happy with the results. this was my first time polishing aluminum so i was a little nervous but it turned out great!

Skunk 2 made a nice piece but it wasnt "silky smooth" enough for me haha



started off with a 60 grit



followed by 80


and lastly 120



i did the same procedure with the ports. there were small bumps and imperfection on the inside of the ports so i started off my smoothing them out

Haha thanks, progression might slow down a bit as I'm going back to school for my third year mechanics but I have to attend school out side of the city nearly 200kms away from my car... Ill do what I can but I try and at pretty focused when I'm school

Well ive been dreading updating my thread because so much has happned.... Well when I got back from school I had told my body guy that I needed the car and I was going to schedule a pick up. I went to his shop and no one was there... civic no where in sight.... call after call after call, nothing... My car and body guy where no where to be found, I got the police involved. fast forward a week this is how I received my vehicle back... this is very embarrassing for me to post but as they say, the show must go on...






As you can see just the biggest hack job has been done to my fenders, no welding what so ever just cuts and bondo...





yup that's my roll cage that can be seen through massive cuts through my rear quarter panels. this genius managed to cut the major supports that run from the roof (c-pillar) to the quarter panel it self..... sigh, ohhhh but theres more




I have no idea what he did but he managed to pull my rad support completely off the vehicle and tied it up with some wire. And to make it all worse he DAMAGED MY WHEEL!!! So after coming back from school, expecting a civic fully painted and wide body I come back to this... I was so devastated, I considered selling everything off and moving on with my life. But from the ashes rises a phoenix. I receive a phone call from a good friend stating he has found me the perfect chassis and I had to buy it. I head over almost immediately to find this gem








A 1996 hatch from California! this car is immaculate!!! it even had the owners manual in it lol. the car has original undercoating, no rust what so ever, even the original windshield! I had my work cut out for me this weekend
 
I started out by salvaging what I could from the old chassis



took it to my work the next day to prepare for a weekend of sleepless nights :)




this time around I want to do everything I wanted to with the last chassis.

I also managed to pick up another seat, a Kevlar Vision technical seat. It fits me so well




And last but not least my exhaust, I have something very special planned for my exhaust setup so stay tuned for that



Such an interesting piece, titanium tip and Carbon fiber canister. That's all for now, off to the welder for another cage to be made, going 6 point this time.
 
This weekend I stripped the interior, shes ready for a cage.... again





I found this in my car, I did a quick polish on it. I think im going to finish it off and keep it



I also started my brake line tuck



Now the the two line that come from the rear calipers that I need to cut and flare for the bulk head connectors I am confused on which flare I need. I was told that I need an AN flare tool which is an irregular 37 degree flare.... does anyone have experience with AN brake line bulk head connectors? any help will help thanks!
 
why????? why did yer man cut up your car WTF!!!!! i would hvae given up id say fair play to ya man
