Kid-Vtek's Canadian EK build: CR-Vtec Turbo

Love the Vision Technica seat, purple Crow harnesses, and the First Molding front lip. You are truly passionate for these cars, being able to not walk away from the red hatch and just wash your hands of it. Props to you buddy. Love builds like this with absolutely no expenses spared. Subscribed!

You guys are too kind!! Thank you again i really appriciate the support!

Progress has slowed because of christmas, naturally, how ever i managed to removed and install my roll cage from the previous chasis to the new one.... in one peice!!! it was challenging to say the least but i managed to pull it off. She is off to the original cage maker to weld it back into place and extend it further to the front to make it a full 6 point cage. Once that is complete i will be sending it off to the body shop to have the interior and engine bay painted so final assembly of the engine and interior can begin!

some parts arrived! EK9 Rear bumper support. 2.8lbs vs the USDM 12.65lbs

I also have some JUN cam gears on the way. i honestly had no idea JUN made them but i saw them and had to have them! can not wait for them to show up, a small christmas gift for myself haha

Massive update!!! i know its been ages since my last update but i assure you it was worth the wait! You guys can follow me on Instagram for quicker update @kidvtek.
I installed my CTR rebar. The aluminium sheet you see is actually a rear splitter that i made after cutting out the spare tire tub for allow for my diffuser to sit flat with the bottom of the car.

i then finished my diffuser mounting brackets which allow for rake adjustment of the diffuser.

Next was to tackle fitting my wheels!

i tried a number of bolt on flares from miatas to AE86, the 86 flare was actually very close but they all moved the center of the wheel arch either forward or backwards and made the wheel look off center when mounted. i purchased a fenrder roller and went to town! i flattened the lip of the inside of the fenders 'paper thin', then progressively pulled the fender using pie cuts on the inside of the fender. i then shaped the inside of the wheel tub to fit the wheel. here are the results.

They actually fit now!!! the nice part is my suspension is almost fully lowered and my wheels fit inside the tub as they camber in! im also almost at zero camber right now so i still have some room to tweek my suspension settings. We shall see how these tires hold up traction wise, idealy on my track wheel i would like to try and fit a 245 wheel all around.

This is where is gets interesting :) At last she is ready for paint!

The color turned out way better than i expected and the body shop did a phenomenal job shaping my rear quarter panels from the aggressive pull, they told my the roof like was slightly distorted from the pull lol im extremely happy with how it turned out!

It has been far too long since my last update! I suppose if you are following me on Instagram (IG: kidvtek) you would have seen that I managed to get my car running in late October! Been busy with life and trying to drive the car as much as possible before the snow hit, I apologize for the late update and lack of pictures! Here are a few pictures/videos I have, better pics to come this spring!

ill start things off with my custom plate, very original haha

Made some good use of our scaffold at work. The vehicle to the left is a very unique Porsche 944 with a Mazda KLZE turbo engine swap painted Lexus LFA brown stone owned by my boss's son.

This video is very cool, it shows the effectiveness of my air box. The shop rag is being drawn into the air box by the turbo at idle, at 2000 rpm is nearly sucked it into the box haha

Thats all i have for now, i have ordered some titanium parts to start the construction of my exhaust system and thats about it for now. I can not wait for this spring! Thanks for viewing!

Impressive stuff! :nice:

I'm wondering whether you'll notice a difference from those rigid collars... Let us know!
