K20 FTW? Maybe not!


The EG had no passenger, but not sure how much difference that will make.
 
All of the above valid points. but both car's are meant to be making 220whp and the EG seemed to fairly pull away from the EK K20
 
b20 will probs have a lot more torque,but probs near reached its peak tuning wise,although ek seems to be revving hard and not going anywhere,who knows without seeing more facts,gearing etc.

That's probably true, don't think the b20 vtec would make 220whp with just bolt on's and a tune as the K20 probably would. Friend of mine has a b20 crx with T.B's it didnt make much HP when been tuned but torque figures were crazy, can't quote them now off the top of my head but that thing can move.
 
u can't really just look at the top whp.. you'll have to consider the power band.
i know for a fact that a b20 have a much "thicker" power band and a flatter torque band. i've seen a eg6 with k20a 250whp 22kgs torque loosing to a eg6 with b20 240 whp and 22kgs torque. both running r888 and 4.9 fd. comparing dyno charts ,
the b20 has a much healthier power band ... it's almost like 15whp more at every rev except that it starts to loose power at 8k where else the k20 peaks at 8.6k
 
Its a K20a2(non type R) for f*** sake. Completely different engine to K20a(JDM type R). :thanks:
 
Depends where you come from, in the EU it's in the EP3 Type R iirc.

still slots in between a k20a2 and jdm k20a

think about b16a vs b16B or b18 vs B18c(type R)
most of the jdm k20a swaps in au are running high 12sec 1/4 mile and very low 13s on bad suspension setup

I should have this mentioned earlier...

A B18C type r swap is quicker Than a k20a2 swap. the advantage of the k20a2 over b18c is gear ratio.

If you've never exp a k20a2 before, it feels very reluctant and doesn't rev anywhere as hard as the type r engine, most of the intrrnals are down graded and only 11CR vs 11.5CR on the type r engine

in au, we have every k20 model available. Includes US, UK, JDM and local
