J's intake problem

Hi guys i hope u can help me here, i installed my j's racing following a thread on here, im having a problem tho its constantly becoming loose where its attached and the pipe keeps slipping out of the rubber attachment, ive tightened the clips as much as i can but seems to have no effect, any ideas greatly appreciated. Thanks
 
i'd be weary of tightening the clips too much. Are you sure its pushed in to the rubber neck far enough that the clips are tightening down on the carbon tube?
 
Hey, yea i was afraid id break the carbon fibre, ill have a look and see when i get home, do u have any pics of ur one so i can gauge the angle and everything, do u still have that heat shield? its pretty cool would buy one off ya if u mass produced ha.

Did you install the brakcet provided?

Here's mine, bear n mind though that the heatshield is pulling it downwards slightly. Where it joins the rubber neck at the IM end, it does sit at an angle, but I've moved the clips slightly to compensate..

You may have also had some oil from the filter on the pipe causing it to slip off, clean the mating surface with rubbing alcohol gently, that should degrease the surface and give it some friction :nice:
 
thanks blinx ive done that now and hopefully my troubles are over
