I just want to talk about the J's racing intake for the b-series engine! My Friend blew his clutch in his ek9 and while he had the car off the road he gave me a lend of his J's racing intake! I loved it right from the start it makes an amazing noise and gives great power! But he now has his 9 back on the road and I have my standard airbox back on! I now realise the differrence it has made the power loss is huge without it especially in low to mid rev's and the car is now pure silent! So I just wanna say for anyone considering buying one of these you wont regret it! The only other intake I would have on my car is the mugen or individual throttle bodies.....

i've got the M factory intake on mine which is a exact copy of the J's one, it makes a big difference on my ek9 and it was only £100

mitch

Awesome stuff.

Have you had / tried the Mugen intake also?

If so, what is the comparison like in your eyes?

What does both sound like?

Is one louder than the other and does either one out perform the other is certain areas?

Cheers

J's intake deffinately going to be LOUDER than the Mugen system, as the latter one comes enclosed... both intakes r quality! tho i would not change my Mugen intake for no other :naughty:

hehehe... no other intake is louder than J's except atm, except ITB hehehe. Thin lining CF plenum doesn't soak or block out noise. On idle... the whistling induction is pretty loud. It's constantly creating a sucking noise.

I was discussing on another forum about installing a larger TB, and then my mind stumbled across the idea that J's intake plenum design could physically be an alternative to a slightly larger TB.

In my thought, if I look at the Intake Mani, TB and intake pipes all as 1 piece, it makes sense that every intake creates a different shaped 1 piece plenum that affects the way air travels. I may be wrong, but most likely it makes sense in physics.

Regarding sound, me and Vtecroadhog have been exagerating so much about the sound J's make that you really have to try it to believe it.

Theres so much bass induction from 2500rpm that creates a thumping rumble sound till 5000rpm... then Vtec barks out really really aggressively. Scares the **** out of by-standers lol

i have one of these on mine and you guys are not exaggerating the sound, its pretty crazy:shocked:

Had one on mine car and changed it for a dc2 airbox with a spoon drop on filter. I miss the roar off it....Might just changed back!

i have a j's for sale.:Di have it on my car a few months and im not really that happy with it but it has a very nice noise though:drive:

Another friend of mine has the mugen which is way quieter but doesnt give as much low to mid end power which in fairness for road use this is where you need it! I miss the noise so much and jugbugz is right when you hit vtec it scares by-standers he he...

Also crazy eyes pm me about selling the intake im interested!

J's Racing carbon fibre intake : 24800yen

Non CF is cheaper around 20000yen

Wow!! That means the cf 1 only works out at £115! How much for your comision and postage on top of that please dude?! :)

Thats a good price I can get them for around €215 and they retail at around €285 here in ireland!

so are we saying that some of you here could supply the j's racing cf intake for less than £190
If so how much are we looking?
im very interested in this intake

24,800.00 JPY = 116.343 GBP

and im guessing 5 percent comission on top..and postage.

hmm, I've already asked about postage to UK for someone here, I can't remember sorry... but once I get email I will let you guys know.

24800 JPY
+ shipping
+ 10% commission (half mine half Japan)

The part is pretty light since it's CF, but I guess its volumetric weight that counts. hmm, if many people order, there might be a discount from J's Racing. I'm not sure though.

hdk: That shield I got it locally. Brand is Monza. I'm sure there are many brands that do similar. :nice:

Shop around UK sites, they sell J's intakes for under £190..........

surely postage will cost less than £60, il wait and see what you can do jugbugz as every penny helps towards the next otem needed
cheers for all your help
