Jesse888 Forged/stroker turbo ek9

Had the car out for alittle blast today, no decent places to actually stretch its legs though so stayed low boost for alittle touge style backroad driving. Must be because I've been spending so much time with my mx5(140hp 1200kg) but it's actually scarey on a narrow road for me ATM. The way it climbs through 2nd, 3rd is impressive! Slight traction issues over bumps etc when really pushing forward in 2nd but nothing too bad.
Higher gears on more open roads it feels much more tame. Also got my vtec crossover back! Haven't heard that since it was n/a b16b! Clear and definite bark at 5.5k.
Need more seat time and possibly get a quick video if I can tomorrow. Going to take me a while to get comfortable with this power lol

Hopefully decent weather tomorrow, that and traffic. This thing needs open road lol

Would be good to see this go in a trackday video. And the idiot chip is brilliant haha.

Just read the whole thread through. What a journey in less than a year! Got insurance renewal up soon and with the cars new spec I doubt it's going to be cheap! Means my next trackday is postponed until money is flowing again.
Shouldn't be long though with some luck. Weather is poor this morning and traffic everywhere because of Blackwall tunnel accident. Hopefully it'll improve abit later on and I can get back out in it!

So I had a right mare trying to insure this(mods declared)
Literally 2 companies that will quote me on it, madness.
Anyway got that sorted for what I think is a decent price considering.
Been out trying to get used to the new power the last few days, gettin more confident in it as time goes by. Was abit scared of it at first tbh, the way it pulls along in 4th is something I've never experienced before.
Anyway, got a video of it going. Can't show it though unfortunately, my licence is my job so wouldn't be wise.
I'll try and find a private road somewhere and shoot a tacho video of it.
Pulled from 50-140 up a pretty steep incline in 15secs today. Not epic fast but was a steep hill lol

Glad you got the insurance sorted :nice:

How is this getting on traction wise?

Glad to here you got it up and running, bet it feels good that you done it yourself, DV8 on here took me out in his stupid fast.

I'll admit traction isn't great but I am on poor tyres, be interesting once I put the semi-slicks on.
Full boost and I can put it all down in 3rd gear(with the **** tyres)
Low boost and I can use 2nd fine.

I quite like the car on low boost tbh, it's a much nicer drive and I can hear the vtec crossover and engine noise, sounds sweet! Up the boost and it's just rushing air and screamer pipe lol
I think I need to work on the front end of the suspension abit, hasn't felt quite the same since I put it back together. Perhaps back the camber off abit, 3.2degrees atm

Small update.
Got my insurance sorted, I'm fully insured(all mods) upto 355hp limit.
Can't reccomend brentacre enough, they are pure enthusiast aswell! After a long day on the phone trying to explain what the cars spec was I found these guys and he knew exactly what I was talking about! Even asked why so low hp, cheeky ****!
Turns out I'm insured with the same insurer I was with last year lol green light couldn't get my car insured with them but these guys did!

Don't hold your breath but I might be on track on the 11th March!

You can stop holding your breath now, I'm at brands 11th March!! I would invite people down and give passenger laps but I don't have a passenger seat or harness ATM.
First trackday with the new engine, just over 800miles on it so should be ok to give it track abuse, haven't taken it out much since the last update. Been at work and petrol funds are running low with this trackday and my insurance etc.
Ordered up it's first batch of ester synthetic from millers(was mapped on semi synth! Oops lol) went for 10w-50 this time round as Ive always run 10w-40 in my cars.
Just realised I forgot to tell you about these!

Fully refurbished Recaro SPGs in red! New cushions, fabric the lot. Very pleased with them, wanted a set since my last ring trip!
Had a side mount seat rail(drivers side) so got my seat in the car and sold my oem recaros. Looks pretty serious inside now(bar the carpet, door cards and centre console)

Nervous for the engine on its first track session, will find any niggles if they are hiding! I'm expecting quite heavy breathing on track but I don't think it'll smoke or explode, you can tell in slowly getting more confidence in the engine itself lol

I was told that fully synthetic is too fine for b series engine before an that semi synth is the only thing to use :busy:o_O

Too fine? Like thin you mean? It's as thick as it says on the tin....
I want stability at high temps. Ester is good for some real high temps that I won't be hitting.
If it was a road only car I'd probably leave the semi synth in it, but it isn't.

Lovely set of seats, Just needs a cage in there now!

Seats are superb mate, and nice one with the trackday booked bet you can't wait, got my first one in a long time in April and the days aren't passing fast enough lol

The Mrs shocked me the otherday. She said she thinks I should get a roll cage before I go to Germany.
She's changed her tune, usually any money spent on the car is wasted in her eyes.
Got to let my wallet recover first. Been a long winter! Lol

Yeah excited but anxious at the same time really. Been a long time since I've been out on track, plus new engine. No doubt I'll be straight back on it after the first lap.

Yeah I know what you mean mate but like you say, first lap under your belt With the new setup and you will be back on it.

When I ordered my cage they gave me the option to pay a deposit and the final sum when it was ready to be sent, it took about 5 -6weeks from point of order (well that's including Christmas)
