Is my 9 a racebase?

I currently own a yellow ek9.
It has original tints. 5 stud hubs. Red manual door cards. Air con. Full fat ek9 interior. Any ideas? :s

Race base had no tints/aircon/abs came with stock ej9 interior iirc.
 
It has no abs either. Is iy possible somebody chose not to have abs and electric windows from factory. Didnt know you could do that.
 
Ye i think its just been specced without some of the extras, known as a lightweight, Check my build thread or stokes, we have racebases with no tints and ej9 interiors

You've got tints is the massive giveaway.
I had one of the "lightweights" dan speaks off.
It's just a budget spec ek9 tbh.
 
Are they really "lightweight" ones or is it just what people call them. Iv always thought it was just that when they were bought new the person buying didn't pay the extra for the electric windows or abs etc...
 
That's what I called mine lol poverty spec with keep fit windows etc
Yeah people call them lightweights but it's exactly as you put, tight first owner didn't want to pay for the extras.
 
I think not having abs is a good idea. But dont understand why it was specced without electric windows. Oh well at least they can't go wrong!
 
Yeah bet it had aircon though? Mine did.
 
Mine has abs, and had a/c but no airbags and has wind up windows.
Also has electric adjusting but non electric folding mirrors.

As said they were all optional extras
 
I had a poverty spec ek9 / lightweight / cheap mans version - aka windy windows, no aircon, no abs, no airbags, no electric folding wing mirrors (but electric moving mirrors). Certainly preferred it over the Rx versions. Nicer momo steering wheel and lighter for the track. Only time windy windows were annoying is when people are trying to be clever dicks by going to the passenger window on purpose :D
 
I have seen both light weight and Motorsport version with factory tinted windows. I would say light weight with optional windows.
Most light weight have AC.

The non air bag momo is a million times nicer than the normal bag wheel

I'm sure I've seen race base with a/c before
 
Race base has a/c iirc, never seen one with tints, not a genuine one anyway.
 
My first ek9 had manual windows, no a/c, no airbags and no retractable mirror. Felt a lot better to drive than my current one to be honest.
 
Ye my race base has ac and ps, but no abs or srs, tints, **** interior and windy windows haha
 
The onlu things mine doesn't have are leccy windows, abs and folding mirrors (unsure about airbags) Thats why im not sure if its a highly specced racebase or normal one with a few bits less.
Maybe they all start life as race bases and people spec them how they want? Appart from the rx of course
 
I can see it with the vin number if EK9 Racebase or not. If you want give it to me and I will look it up for you.
