Is my 9 a racebase?

There is a facelift racebace at auctions now with less that 25k miles on. Starts at 90 000 JPY. Wonder how much that will go for!

A small fortune no doubt considering the mileage. Would love to buy a low mileage race base and just tuck it away for the future

My facelift racebase will be for sale within the next month or two. For a reasonable sum

Enjoy your amazing fuel consumption dannyboy205 lol.
I have had a 'normal' spec ek9 and much prefer the car without abs. I will probably never track it but you never know.
Nice to know there are other oddly specced 9s out there though!

Haha i know. But i currently only drive for fun. So it seems like the right time to step up. I have considered a 996 but the budget only covers earlier failure prone 911s compared to later 996s.

Seems to be a trend of going from ek9 to e46 m3.

I kind of like them but can't get that excited about them.
The cracking rear ends puts me off and the need to upgrade bottom end bearing shells puts me off for a start. Plus the fact they tend to rot around arches etc

All the bottom end bearings on the early models should of been done 10 years ago under recall. Subframe can be an issue, but i am a qualified tech so the works not a big issue for me. Arch rot ye, no more so than the poor honda though!

Fixing the subframe would not be an issue for me either, I'd rather be doing it my self than think some dealership chiseler had done it in the past.

Bmw's r&d should of been better really.

I'm not trying to say I don't like these m3's just saying the things that concern me about them enough to make me not want one,

Ye i have ummed and arrd for ages about 1. But after having ago in sum, and seeing what they can do on the track. Im goner take the plunge. Hopefully in a year ill have the space to store a ek9 shell. And do a full ground up track car.

At least you've thought about it properly not just jumping on the band wagon like a lot of people seem to do with that type of car.
Good luck with it. A lot of people come back for a second slice of ek9 ownership!

This 9 is my second years later. My first one (T126gbl) if its still around? Was my first performance car I have had an aray of nice cars since amd ended up back in one. Had to be yellow this time though. Cant see me selling it this time round.

Driven an e46. Awesome cars. I dont have the same passion for them though.
