Right 6 months on from rebuilding me ej9 and spent £££££££££ on it and it's still not on the road some of the bits on the car I've bought have been complete crap bad condition the car engine isn't running right I have 2 months till jap fest and 3 pages of MOT failures to get through and i'm running out of money, FAST!.

Should I bite the bullet and sell up? Or shall I carry on and spunk my wage on it every month and not get any where?

I need some insperation........

if you in too deep just finish it lol...man idk post picks maybe you'll get inspiration through there. Also extend your deadline so you dont go broke in 2months

I've told myself if it's not ready it's not ready that's that but I don't know what I'm expecting at the end of it if you know what I mean.....

I've looked through pictures and read magazines but this really has beat me I think :(
think I may regret it if I sell up but then again it's probably for the best oh I don't know.....

i worked 11hours to get bak on road and 2hrs after bein on road boom grrrrr

but now b16b'd im so glad :p

Don't know if you have a garage or so, but maybe you should leave it for 1 or 2 weeks and then decide or just continue.

i think everyone that takes on projects go through this stage. there is always the low points that make you ask why. but at the end of the day you need to enjoy what you are doing and dont set a price on it cos thats when it all gets on top of you. just do it step by step do the jobs right and it will all come together. it will all be worth it in the end

Ive been in the same frame of mind with mine a couple of times during my conversion.. bits not fitting, then not being able to find parts and then everything dragging on

But then i think.. there was a reason i started it in the first place, and i know that once i get out on a nice but of road when the suns out itll all the effort will feel worth it in the end

id stick at it man:nice:

Keep at it matey... I've had some utter shite with my 9 but hopefully i'll find out over the next few day's that it'll have been worth it

definately. i spent 6 months gathering and saving for my conversion and other mods that i got last month for my engine to blow up 600 miles later.

my bank account will literally read 0 when my car is back on the road, but its my car iv built it. the time and money spent is mine to create something special and unique. im probably circa 13k into my car including buying it but nae point starting somthing and no finishin it haha

keep going, youl be ****ing chuffed when u get to go out and smash the things pasty in.

aplogies if this reads rubbish, i am drunk :nice:

yeh man keep on it i just sold my eg turbo coz i had to keep spending money doing thing by the time i got round to it looking and feeling how a wanted somit else would happen so got shut of it whilst it was broken lost loadsa money and wish id never sold it and just keepd it strip it down and redid it bit by bit these moods you get to spew it are very dangerouse believe me i wish i never lost bout 5k pure crap feeling bu now im resheling a ek9 so least i got sumit to look forward to and my new project starting afresh done right from the beging just step back take a beather and plod on

dont sell up, i'm in the same position as you right now, but probably worse tbh..

ive spent over 20k on my ej9 now, and ive got 3 months to get it on the road for a tracknight ive paid for, and one i cant miss, plus my cars sitting in my garage with no engine or subframe etc, and ive not got a job so moneys tight!, and it does stress the **** out you, but theres always light at the end of the tunnel, it will be worth it if you get your head down and beast in!

Thanks for the support guys :) really apreatiate I woke up this morning with a fresh mind I'll go to work where the car is stored and get the hell on with it:)
I have just had a really crap time on it at the moment I'm making stupid mistakes like one of the reasons the engine isn't running right is the cam timing is a tooth out from when I done the cambelt! It took an auto electrican to find that! And another one it wouldn't fire up at the start it took me a week to find it was the ht leads on the wrong way

for one reason it's making me look crap at work (I'm a mechanic) and another it's just making me loose conidance in my self and my work.

I hate cars I hate them so much!!!!! Haha

stick at it dude as said everyone goes through crap times with there cars if you forget it and sell up you might regret it and end up getting another one which will end up costing you more cash. Good luck with her man :nice:

This is a test of your passion, i have felt this way many times, i really thought i had given up but i still havnt lol...

3 years ago in august i took my EG6 off the road for what was meant to be a simple cam change....i then got further in and talked myself into a full rebuild...
for 6 mionths it was going ok, then i hit a wall, and couldn't be bothered with it....the car sat in the garage for about 18 months under a cover, parts everywhere...i had about 3k worth of new parts just sitting there under a pile of dust...

then i gave myself a kick up the ass and started lookin at pics of EG6's again, and i took 1 look at Arnel's Milano Red beauty and headed straight for the garage again!!! i'm not 8 weeks away from completing the rebuild, and its thanks to places like this which gave me the motivation to do it! there's not a better feeling than warming the V-Tec up, going onto a stretch of road on a summer evening and hearing that note at 5200 RPM, not a single noise can match that...

Keep at it bro, u know its worth it in the end.... (better be, if its not i'm torching the bugger lol)

Defo keep at it, my car has been off the road for over a year now and it depresses me everytime i look at it when im on my way to work everyday. but now ive got a job itll b back with avengence. we have all had cars that went wrong due to little crappy things but itll be alright when its finished and you look at at it and think, 'no one has got a car the same as mine' everybodys car is unique in different ways and the way people look at your car is priceless. Stick at it
