Cusworth:drive:

wouldnt trust the ebay turbo kits turbo herd horror stories before but apart from that the rest of the stuff in there is supposed to be pretty good

Well most things you buy there's going to be risk involved. That kit looks not too bad! And it's cheap so you could just sell the turbo on and buy another!

Interested in an immaculate TD04? :)

edelbrock kit, the D kit has a GT28R that is very well matched for the smaller motor...

Usually there just Pictures of another, however similar kit they use to make it sell better. Bet if you read the small print it will say somewhere along the lines of 'pictures vary between kits and picture shown may not show the exact kit your buying'. Just a generic picture :nice:

Do you think its worth doing? i just want a civic turbo'd lol. is there any 1 on ere that has either a 1.4 or 1.5 turbo? need t know where they got there kit from.

a d with a turbo, thats a fun setup, nothing to make fun of anymore. Watch that transmission or have a spare sitting around.

Evening all, after some advice on a similar topic (not worth its own thread)

I currently also have a D14 which i would like to turbo, just because no one seems to keep the D14, think it would be different..,

firstly with a bolt on kit like the one for sale on ebay ( above ) what boost could i run it safely at?

Secondly, is that turbo kit still for sale ^?

Cheers

Standard block probably looking at max 7-8psi. The weak part of the D series seems to be the rods, the pistons are actually a pretty good design im been told for boost but if your opening the block up id say swap in a set of forged low comp pistons +rods which will enable you to run higher boost and make some nice power:drive:

Omg I would soo love to do this!!
How much power can these put out
anyone how of any?
If only insurance companys didn't mind turbos

Thankyou mate great help, what pistons and rods would you advise?
ill still run it daily at about 8 even with upgrades.

Would a complete kit, like the one on ebay be a good base? and replace parts as budget allows?

Thanks again

emmm both really ?

How much money you want to spend? you could probably sleeve the block and go full hog with crank, rods, pistons, ported sohc vtec head, high lift cam and a large turbo and make crazy figures i.e over 400bhp but would not make economic sense.
Stock block your probably looking at around maybe 180-200whp @8psi boost with supporting parts (I'm taking these figures from word of mouth) A good custom tune would be critical to make the stock boosted engine last. Swap the rods out and you could increase the boost some more and make higher peak power.
