Dose it fit?

arite mate i have jus fitted one of these headers to a mates 9 but not been started up yet as its jus had alot of money spent on rebuild .

aanyways they are correct in sayin that a few modifications are needed for this to fit correctly . u need to cut a fair bit off of your flywheel cover tht bolts onto next to your sump to allow the manifold to fit . as we aint had chance to see the gains in my opinion i would look at some other headers as nearly all the rest jus fit straight on without havin to cut and weld e.t.c

thats my opinion anyway hope it helps .

Hate to burst your bubble guys, but most of those headers are hytech "style" headers on EBAY and not actually made or designed by John. He takes about 2 weeks to make a header and to get him to do it takes about 3 months. I know, I had one.

Not too mention they cost $1300 usd, so like 650 pounds?

sorry never noticed the ebay bit lol . i jus fitted one on haribo1187 ek9 and he tells u wen u order one that u need to carry this out to get it to fit haribos took nealry 5 months to arrive in scotland costin him around the £1000 mark he said the time it was shipped . i could imagine the ebay jobs would be a bit of a nitemare to be honest .

i will have 2 heytec headers if you can get them for £100 john lol. think you ment to say over £1000 but haribo's header is a real one NOT from ebay. and like john is sayin for that kind of money i would want it fitting perfect not having to cut bits out. but if thats the way you need to rout the pipes for the best flow. if you ask me i would stick to the 5zigen manifold then the money you save spend on the gearing of your car i.e 3,4,5 gear set 4.785 final drive stuff like that

haha i noticed that lum so edited it or woulda bought a few for mysel haha . but beleive u me its a real hytech one . jus not wat i would spend that sorta money on as lum says would rather buy the 5ziegen one and do your gears for that money . but as u say its a ebay job so in my opinion stay clear .

5zigen is best buy.

Hytech headers have the highest recorded gains on a B-seires engine. Even better than TODA!

What are Greddy like. I'm about to buy one delivered for £270.

yer but hytech dont fit an take alot of messing about to get them on. is it worth it?

yes it is. If you are getting a true Hytech, call or email John G (the owner/fabricator) and tell him you need it to the exact length as the stock header on your car. There will be no fiddling or modification and you'll be able to bolt it right up and still have big gains.

Hytech also had their "Production Header" which was not a custom piece, but an off-the-shelf item. This is where all this "replica" talk started, as most people don't know the true story, just internet hearsay.

Due to the popularity though, genuine "replicas" really did start to appear on the market which is why you can now pick these up for $350-450. You can, however, notice the differences in the construction with these.

Suffice to say, there are good and bad "replicas" available on the market. If you pick up a good one, there is no difference between this and Hytech's Production Header.

Do you know of any genuine replicas? Sounds good to me. :)

Sorry, should prob rephrase that :p

There are genuine "replicas" on the market, which usually are the more expensive ones and offered as re-branded headers.

Then there are the copy "replicas" on the market, the cheap ones you see on eBay etc. One look at the welds and finish and you can tell these were cheaply made.

This is true mainly for B18C and B20 motors. The B16A and B16B do not show quite as dramatic improvements for the costs and wait involved. There is a reason why David Stadilus of SMSP fame does not offer a B16A/B fitment as he feels the Toda is a very good example for these particular motors.

Moreover, the hytech production header has poor ground clearance and will necessitate the removal of the transmission stiffener. Things that I personally take into consideration despite my cars being mostly used for track.
