Hey Guys,

I recently imported a 1997 Black B16a2 Civic Vti-s over from the UK to be my daily driver for the start.

Finally I have noticed that there are too many ricers our there and everyone has a civic with the standard 170bhp - 180bhp range.

How could I pump up, performance wise, my civic so that I could stick out from the rest. I mean not looks wise ... just when one of them comes by and starts revvin about .... I leave him in my dust, cus after all .... thats why I got a Vtec engine for ;) hehee

Since I don't understand too much, compared to you guys on the forum, What would you suggest would be a good way to start with?

Current Setup::
Stock B16a2 Engine
AEM V2 Air Intake + Manifold
Full Stainless Steel Exhaust ( Dunno the brand )

Thanks a LOT guys,
Jerry.

hahaha love the pic jfayboy =p

No I'm actually serious.

What would the best way to start off with be?

It can't be so simple as I just need to buy a turbo right?

75 shots of nitrous oxide lol lol....there's always gonna be someone faster and with deeper pockets than you so get that " i want to be the fastest " out of the question

hes right, make it look good, and make it a car you can enjoy to drive. you wont be the fastest

If you wanted to be the fastest, lets be honest you wouldnt of bought a civic although they are great and i love mine :) . First thing you need is money to be able to do any mods!

wish you all the best Mate

Well, to start off with you need to decide how fast you really want to be.

Fast in a straight line, so you can do the traffic lights drag race thing? Or fast around the corners so no-one will dare to follow you into the corner at 'X' speed without you killing yourself or injuring others? :secret: This also depends on how good you are as a driver, drive within your limits.

After that you need to realise how deep your pockets are and your clear objective. You will never leave a 300-400bhp car in your dust in a straight line.

Do you mean something like this is what's on your mind?

If you want to be simply faster than a 1.6 litre Corsa, then leave it as it is and add basic breathing mods etc. and lose some weight off the car, most of the time this is free.

real world tuning Ek9 cam's and Ek9 retainers and such will get you bang for buck performance..

B18 swap is always a great option saves you plowing loads of money into a B16A2. to make the same power ;)

if you got dolla go for a K20 swap...

if money is no object speak to Yasir on the forum about building you a fire breathing, Sleeved, B18 turbo build with 700WHp !!!!! then my frined you might just be the fastest civic in malta ;) :)) :D

TBH IMO i think tuning a car to be fun and drivable is all you need, theres no need to be the fastest... a comment in members signature springs to mind.

"showing off is a fools glory " don't worry about being the fastest just make your car fun to drive :nice:

finally POST PICS!!!!!!!!!!

^^ as said above^^ well done my friend, in a nut shell, one rep for you :nice:

HAHAHAHAHAHA
sorry had to have a little chuckle to myself.

K24 supercharged lol. that should go fairly.

if i ever had enough monies tho i think i'd like to space frame a civic and put a evo 8 engine in there with 4x4 running gear for extra traction, then tune the nuts off it. (possible????)

good to dream hey.

good luck with what ever you decide tho.

Stick your ass out the window, hold the car & fart. It should give you a extra 10-15bhp depending on what you've eat...

^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ LOL. Gives a new meaning to "breathing mods" I guess.

Like the others said, it all depends on your budget mate.

Ek4 is still a very capable car, the b16a2 isn`t a bad base to turbo being a lower compression than the b16b/18c. Then again if you want to keep N/A you cant go far wrong with a b18c :nice:

i still rekon its a wind up.

ring up rolls royce, and ask for a RB199. should improve power.

then it will go like this
