Decided to do a custom tune on my EK9 today so booked a hr on Couture Auto's Dyno Dynamics rollers. I done some datalogs and tuning on route to dyno as I knew I would be limited for time with only having a hr booked.

I done a few power runs on stock OEM EK9 ecu to begin with which gave peak 175.4bhp which is a very good result for a EK9 on this dyno then connected up my Moates demon installed obd1 ecu and started tuning with Ectune software.

Most of the hour was taken up tuning the cruise area of map for max. tractive effort which payed off when I took it out on the road to feel how responsive it was at part throttle.

With the remaining time left I started doing WOT sweeps to tune for max output. I could have done with more time but was happy enough with the gains achieved especially considering this car is stock bar decat and J's Racing induction kit. Torque was improved right across the power band and made peak power of 185.1bhp @~8600rpm. Vtec cross over now at 5800rpm.

Not yet, waiting to get the ECU back from the supplier, they recommended to use some suppressed wire because they think it might be caused by electrical interference. Will test the TPS and add the wire once I get the ECU back, got a rally in two weeks so I'm hoping it will be fixed by then. Fingers crossed!

Nice work Vtec6000 :nice:

Champ white, I keep a big stock of all relevant wiring inc shielded twisted pair if you require any.

If you're still stuck with the fault after/before the rally then give me a call, It won't take me to long to identify it. :nice:

Its plausible, the TPS signal dropping defiantly didn't seem right in those logs you sent me. Drop me a email if you need more help with it or just to look over more logs.

Thanks Will.

Nice results with some tuning :D

nice results considering its nearly standard! always liked that ek9 of yours, had half a mind to buy it when johnny was selling but didnt have the funds at the time:(

ectune... you were tellin me about it before seems to be decent stuf:)

Yeah, would have liked some more time to try knock another few hp out of it but dyno time is expensive so had to call it quits after the hr.

Cheers. Its a minter alright:nice:

Its pretty nice software although I was cursing it a few times today when it kept dropping connection to ecu. TBH hondata, ectune, neptune there all pretty much the same its more down to the tuners skills(not wanting to sound big headed there) and what their given to work with i.e healthy engine, good parts etc. you could get a bad condition engine and no matter what you try it won't make the power.

Could you pm me as well mate i would be interested to know how much my Lil D14 was putting down lol

I'm in Ireland mate. Might be a little far to travel for a power run:D

Great results there mate from an hours work!:win:

The amount of times i see people saying an uprated EMS is not worth the money unless you have an "extencive" spec list, this just goes to show a near stock EK9's driveability/power can be increased with a proper map!

Top work mate!

Thanks JB. Yes I agree a custom tune on any car can transform it even if car is standard. It was the whole reason I done power runs on stock ecu with this car as it's pretty much stock to see what improvements could be had with a
custom tune over running oem ecu. The driveability is real nice on this now, feels really crisp at light throttle and smooth power delivery. With some basic bolt on's and further tweaking of the map to suit this car has alot of potential:nice:
