Hi guys my name is Chris and i bought my EK9 for around 2 months and have been enjoying it every moment i drive it. I just finish my course in Automotive Engineering and now hoping to find an Apprenticeship. I know my car is not perfect since the paint is getting old and i need to buy myself some factory headlights >< Will be learning a lot from this site as i am still new to Cars.

Welcome mate, good to see the kiwis are not as strict as he aussies about imports anyway!

Enjoy it:D

Welcome. I hear it's a hard life being a petrolhead over in NZ?

Could be worse, ek9s are illegal in OZ! Well, they can't be legally driven on the roads anyway...:(

What you cant be serious EK9's are illegal in Aussie for what reason? Emissions law? Cause New Zealand now you cant import anything under the year 2005, its ridiculous

Welcome to the forum! Imo oem headlights will look much better ;)

Yeap im heading back to Hong Kong to get myself some OEM lights ><

I'm not totally sure but here is some sort of law that says that there has ro be at least 1 other car of the same chassis code registered in the country to make it legal to drive on WA roads.

Ridiculous to be honest, don't see any genuine JDM dc2s either, which is strange cos they have the same chassis code as the Aussie spec cars.

I did see what i thought was an ek9, but was later told it was a replica. Fooled me though, exterior was spot on ek9, even had spoon calipers and 5 stud weds sport wheels, but was an OZ spec ek1 with a full conversion and cw paint.

Sup Chris, nice to see you here (R8edM from NZH)
Nice ek mate :)

Yea well NZ law is pretty crap as well now hardly any good cars get to come into NZ so annoying cause their are hardly any EK9 parts in NZ if there are then its overpriced and possibly stolen from another car but most of the parts actually get shipped overseas never resurfaces in NZ market. Damn DC2 as well i thought they had heaps of them over there :(
