Hello,
Well I thought I would introduce myself on here. A friend of mine recommended I get myself registered on here, to help me whilst I was searching for a DC2 for myself. Very friendly and informative place from what I can see guys
Anyway on with the hello...
First of all... heres me... yep the confused one in the middle
For 4 years I have owned a Toyota Mr2 mk2 rev3 Turbo.
Fantastic car, even if the handling wasn't exactly always very reassuring. My Mr2 had a dyno proven 310bhp, but the power was pointless as it was only ever really used in a straight line, very fast but not practical. So after 4 years of getting her to how I wanted, with all the right subtle modifications...I grew tired of the lack of space, the fact I could not use it every day, and the costs of maintaining and fuelling the car.
Heres a few pictures of the old Mr2
Part of the downfall of my Mr2, is that luckily I also have the oppertunity to use Caterhams 7, due to my brothers and I running a Caterham rental fleet. I have to say these stole the thunder from my mr2 completely... they are roofless, fast, amazing handling, and good on fuel... the love for the mr2 was therefore lost completely once we gained a fleet of these.
Picture of one of our Caterhams, being driven by my brother, at the Ring car park.
I am also a photographer, so therefore I need a lot of space for camera gear, and I spend quite a lot of time driving around to locations so need reliability and economy, as well as fun when I want to have it.
I looked around, and the only car that really got my attention was the DC2 (sorry ek9 guys, I'm a big lad and I think I'd look a tad like Bowser on mario kart in one ), I'd always admired them, and I felt they filled all my requirements.
I am also an avid "ringer" and I'm lucky enough to have been to the Nurburgring numerous times, but with only 30 odd laps under my name, I am very much still a rookie but I am keen to learn!
So the DC2 also appeared to be a fantastic track weapon base to carry on my Nur trips with.
So anyway I found a great DC2 for sale by one of the members off of the dc2 forums, and I have to say its amazing! I love it so much already. Plans are to leave it pretty much as it is!!! and to just enjoy it really
It does have an Apexi N1 exhaust on it currently, which I don't think I can live with, so will most likely swap that out for a quieter less boomy system such as a mugen tl or a HKS hi power system
oh and before I forget... here is the most important part... some pictures of my DC2
Great forum here, one which has helped me alot already with the picking of a DC2, so thanks for that guys
I look forward to attending the shows, and hopefully meeting some of you lot.
oh and ... hope I haven't bored you all too much already!
cheers,
Dan
