heel and toe

Well i just tried this technique and I embarassed myself all by myself. Its not as easy as I am reading, maybe some youtube videos will help :/

one of the problems with heel and toe is that its best used under heavy braking or braking at a highish speed, you'll find it hard at first to blip the throttle without pressing the brake harder than you need to.

that is exactly what i was doing

Once you get the hang of it you can do it at any speed

I use it ALL the time including driving about town, need to with the ORC plated clutch and solid engine mounts, if I don't then it feels like the dash will end up in my lap :nono:

cant do this properly, it feels smoother for me if i dont do heel and toe.
i guess the d14 isnt hardcore enough lol

i've been trying this for about a week now on my way to work, starting to get the hang of it, just one question, is it legal to use this on public roads, just wondered what the police would say if they heard me blip the throttle on the down change when arriving at tesco, lol

wouldnt that be driving without due care and attention though?

tbh i dont think they'd give a **** unless you were breaking the speed limit, you could also say i feel more confident using the technique

If you did it right (i.e. not locking up, over-revving etc) you'd have to get a right arsehole of a copper to have something to say about it. And if he's that big a wanker, it's probably worth nutting him.

Police shouldn't do anything about it unless you have some stupidly loud exhaust. They double clutch down a lot of the time.

Hey guys ... wow .. I tried this this morning LMAO .... that's pretty hard .... of coarse its not easy with dress shoes as I was on my way to work lol .. But its pretty good idea ... I might practice more when im in more appropriate attire ... I was at 20 mph by the time I finely got the rpm right and the gear smooth lmaoo .. Maybe I might try at a higher speed .. One a safe road of coarse ..

very useful technique, and the pedals in the ek9 are perfectly set for it

I've odne it in every car I've had, not trying to be a faster drive or anything but because the first proper vehicle I had was an SV650S V twin bike, if you don't blip the throttle on downchanges on a V twin you will be sliding lol. I tend to "big toe and little toe" though rather than heel and toe, having my foot at a funny agle doesn't feel right, and I have fat feet which can press both pedals haha :D
