Mine isn't a USDM Civic... 2000 EK9 Rx here .I think it is the same with only difference being for RHD car. You don't need any sensors to make this climate control work in any USDM civic 99-00.
Well, you actually need more than one sensor and a full wiring harness in the dash and another one running from chassis to the headlights.Interesting. I would think that the Vi-RS system would need some way of detecting interior temperature in order to be able to adjust to what ever temperature you set the control dial to as well.
I done a analogue to facelift ek9 dash and changed out dash, heater, blower box,and ac , all works good
I never changed any sensors ,
Only had to rewire my rear demistor ,
A worthwhile mod for sure .
If anyone is doing conversion from prefacelift to facelift without running the "auto" function, these are actually the only things that needed to make everything works, so you can keep your dash, fan, cooling coil and heater core. Of course you have to slice a wire to connect the defroster.Wyvern,
Sorry for sidetracking your "wanted" post, definitely some good information here though.
In concerns to your original post... are you changing from pre-facelift to facelift climate control or trying to change to one of the auto control units? The reason I ask is because the heater assembly should be the same for all trim levels of the same year range, and mostly the wiring as well. As far as I'm understanding it, it's the control unit and sensors that make up the only difference (please correct me if I'm wrong Hikaru).
If you're converting from pre-facelift to facelift then there's more needed. There's also a lot of information available concerning that swap, to which I could provide links if needed.
