It is kind of long shot but does anybody have heater unit from EK9 with automatic climate control? I will need also interior fan and the wiring harness between them. Let me know if any of these is available.

Thanks

It must be from automatic climate control either this:

or this:

I have a complete Vi-RS climate control that I bought brand new and used for 15,000km. PM me if you are fine with that.

Hikaru,
Is the Vi-RS auto control unit fully functional/plug and play for 1999-2000 models? Seems like there would be an inside temp sensor required at a minimum.

I think it is the same with only difference being for RHD car. You don't need any sensors to make this climate control work in any USDM civic 99-00.

Mine isn't a USDM Civic... 2000 EK9 Rx here :).

Also, I recall reading somewhere that there was an interior temperature sensor required. I can't seem to find that post again though. I believe that it installs behind this grille (there is an existing harness plugged into a blank behind it too):

You need interior temperature sensor together with the outside temperature sensor and the sunbeam sensor only if you have digital auto climate control like the one in ek4 SIR

it is not needed for your climate control to work properly

Interesting. I would think that the Vi-RS system would need some way of detecting interior temperature in order to be able to adjust to what ever temperature you set the control dial to as well.

Well, you actually need more than one sensor and a full wiring harness in the dash and another one running from chassis to the headlights.

You need sensor 1 and 5 in the dash, and sensor 2.

If you just need the Vi-RS trim, you can swap your existing A/C module into the Vi-RS climate control trim. IMO it's really not worth it to go from manual to auto A/C because all EK9 don't have that option, the only you can do is get the complete ek4 harness.

Thank you for the clarification, I thought as much. I was hopeful that the Vi-RS auto controls could just be swapped into my existing climate control trim panel and function properly... would've been kind of a cool addition. If it requires all of the extra then I'm with you, it wouldn't really be worth it.

I done a analogue to facelift ek9 dash and changed out dash, heater, blower box,and ac , all works good
I never changed any sensors ,
Only had to rewire my rear demistor ,
A worthwhile mod for sure .

Yeah, but keep in mind that the EK9 climate control doesn't come with the "auto" regulating function. With the Vi-RS, EK4 and some EK3 trim, they have the auto temperature regulating function and auto vent distribution function.

Wyvern,
Sorry for sidetracking your "wanted" post, definitely some good information here though.

In concerns to your original post... are you changing from pre-facelift to facelift climate control or trying to change to one of the auto control units? The reason I ask is because the heater assembly should be the same for all trim levels of the same year range, and mostly the wiring as well. As far as I'm understanding it, it's the control unit and sensors that make up the only difference (please correct me if I'm wrong Hikaru).
If you're converting from pre-facelift to facelift then there's more needed. There's also a lot of information available concerning that swap, to which I could provide links if needed.

No problems guys there is some usefull information in here :)

I am changing the cable prefacelift heater control with the auto climate control from ek4 SIR (you can see it in the past pic) which is also a prefacelift. Currently i got most of the parts needed. I still need two of the sensors - the inside temperature sensor and the sunbeam sensor. Once i have them all i plan to make a how-to for this swap :)

Very nice. That will be a worthwhile upgrade. It will be a great "how-to" to see as well.

I have the sensor in the bumper with the full harness No.6 in the illustration if anyone needed this. It came off a 2000 EK4 Ferio with the auto function.

If anyone is doing conversion from prefacelift to facelift without running the "auto" function, these are actually the only things that needed to make everything works, so you can keep your dash, fan, cooling coil and heater core. Of course you have to slice a wire to connect the defroster.
