Thanks

Hiatch on here has one made up. pm him and im sure when he has time he will reply :nice:
Spoon pipe is overpriced

I didnt make one but i have one aswell, bought a whole airbox for £40 and it came with a stainless steel "spoon" copy bend.

Good Mod! buti painted it black so its not shiny anymore :D

did you have to bend the pipe into a oval at the airbox end ??

No, as you push the round 'spoon type' pipe into the rubber fitting at the airbox end it stretches it, making a snug fit.

Wont it be any better if you was to connect a pipe from the airbox to the TB.????

instead of the OEM one?

Yes. Have to get it made though, dont think any body sells a direct fit pipe, correct length, diameter & angle.

I going 2 make my own version in 3" stainless pipe tomz, im modding the standard air box and running a cold air feed 2 it!

I not sure if im going 2 make it in one complete pipe or should i join it in the middle with hump hose, so it will have a bit of flex like! will see how it works:nice:

I modified my airbox today and made a custom pipe from the airbox to the throttle body!

I was going 2 make it out of one stainless piece, but i spoke 2 a few people and they told me 2 join it in the middle with some flexi pipe for some flex, so i decides 2 get a hump hose!

Here a few pics, i will right up what i did in another thread in a few days:nice:

that looks cool man.

Any gains??? Difference??

I thought its better to use the oem pipe with the spoon pipe??

If it wasnt better then spoon would have just used a straight piece of pipe like the one above???

Whats your thought peeps???

looks sweet,, get posting up your thread did you feel any gains once installing the custom pipe?

Cheers people:nice: looks a lot better than the topfuel that i had on!

Since iv done it the car goes a hell of a lot better, doesn't hesitate like it used 2, just touch the throttle and it just wants 2 go:) a lot better throttle response. It also pulls better all the way through the rev range and pulls a lot harder when it crosses over 2 vtec, you can feel that it gained a bit of power and torque:nice:

The only down side with it, is that iv lost the sound it used 2 make, it used 2 sound awesome when you put your food down and go crazy when it goes into vtec, with the topfuel on, but know you cant hear it, lost it growl if you know what i mean.

That setup with the stock airbox looks real good Cardi. Have you posted up how you did it yet? You weld the bracket and breather tube on yourself? Sure you'd have a market for them if you made a couple of kits up ;)

Cheers mate! i need 2 do a how 2 thread, i will try and do it in the next week when iv got some spare time, just wished i toke more photos now:angry: Im a welder by trade so welding the breather pipe and brackets isn't a problem like!

I have been thinking about making a couple, but don't know if i can be bothers with the hassle if they don't fit (it was a fiddle 2 line everything up, and i needed 2 tweak quite a few thing 2 get it 2 work) If I do make them they wont be cheap because by the time you get hold of everything (stainless bends, silicon houses etc etc) it just adds up, think iv spent over £100+ on my one:shocked: so it not a cheap mod if you compare it 2 a short intake, like the fake j's you can get on ebay for £120
