Handling? How good is ek, eg, dc etc?

from my experience the ek9 is more neutral than the dc2, but its personal preference as to which one you prefer. eg are fun too but sketchy at higher speeds.

Most cars will oversteer when lifting off the throttle...

I have a hard time lift-oversteering my EK3 with EK4 rear swaybar. I can easily let go in most corners, in situations where the DC2 would easily break out when the gas was let go. I can't really say my EK3 with EK4 rear swaybar is more prone to oversteer than understeer.

I would love to be able to drive a ek9, dc2 dc5 just to learn and feel etc, need to make my ek4 as good as it can be lol

EK4 has stronger chassis than EK9 so it would be extremely difficult to get the same exact feeling out of it.

Having had 4 DC2's, 3 DC5's, currently an EK9 & ATR, i'll comment.

Stock - There all very sorted cars, to be honest theres nothing in it handling and grip wise, its all pretty much the same. The difference is the torque, gearing, and more so the sensation of it all, i.e the DC5 stock is boaring and not as involving to drive as the DC2. Lap times, you would see very little difference from a DC2 and DC5, with the EK9 only a tad behind.

I find the EK9 to be the more involving drive and better handing car out of the box. The DC5 has all the grip it needs, and is easy to drive, with alot less lift off than the others. The DC2 if find has bit more front traction/grip available than the EK9, but the rear is alot more float, in high speed bends you really notice it. The EK9 is a like, but just has a more controllable tail, the snap i find is alot less.

If your a driver who wants to feel everything the cars doing and be more involved then the DC2 & EK9 are the ones to have, if your not such a great driver and what grip, a stable back end, and want to go fast, then DC5 is the one.

Ive got a ek4 with front and rear strut braces, subframe brace, ek9 arb, ek9 brakes and coilovers and the car handles exceptionally. Cornering speeds on the car are pretty high i often find myself thinking how the hell did the car manage to hold on going that fast around a corner (and tbh i really dont think i have the talent to drive the car to its limits). All in all for everyday drivers they are all excellent it just depends on which you prefer. Mine is more track orientated at the minute and id be confident that it could hold its own on a track with much more powerful cars.

With the right mods an EK4 isn't far off a 9. My friend's EK4 with HSD's, Whiteline rear ARB and subframe brace, wasn't a bad car at all even on T1R's and after a bit of suspension tweaking it was a very compliant car, and far more forgiving one bumpy roads compared to my very stiff Cusco fixed damper setup. However mid turn his lack of bracing (and to some degree, I guess, the fabled stiffer EK9 chassis) you didn't feel the back end followed so sharply, again this favoured less smooth roads on the straights but just not quite giving you that confidence in the corners.

I've not driven an stock EK9 so can't comment but from mine with it's assortment of braces I can say that it's possibly the best handing car I've been in, it will step out at the back off throttle but that means you have a level of balance mid-corner on the throttle that a lot of FWD cars lack. The long wheel base and wide track mean you don't get spat off instantly. They are light on the back end and stripped are a bit too unbalanced and quite rough as the lack of load on the suspension seems to stand out.

EK9 is an Evolution of the DC2 in my eye's when it comes to the best Base car.

Longer wheel base, chassis stiffness, better goe, etc.

All depends on the amount of talent the man behind the wheel has.

EK9 has all the right things to be fast with only reasonably talented hands.
DC2 not quite as balanced and neutral as Ek9 but still only need to be reasonable talented to be fast.
EG6 no Type R aids or extra chassis stiffness, generally crappier in every way out of the Box. Takes real Men with mega talent to drive these reasonably Fast.

:)P see what I did there :naughty:)

Go to a trackday and watch an ek9 compete. They surprise a lot of stuff massively capable for an FF car.

Have an EK4 sir and there's a DC2 on the drive too and I fully agree when people say the DC2 is quite tail happy out of the box, which I like. From my conception the dc2 always comes across as being the ultimate ff type r, it feels so stiff and pin-pointed! Although there are far too many variables when trying to compare particular cars IMO and I have haven't drove an ek9 in any anger around corners either.
