hiya
well after ordering my ek off andy at 200bhp its here in a few weeks

just wondering how many people ask you why ?????????

recently at work people are giving me loads of stick as to why I have spent in the regeon on £6000 on a 98 old honda with around 70k on .

you try explaining what a legend of a car a ek9 is and they just dont understand saying oh you could of got a 2002 uk civic for that or a nice newer shape astra for that ..your crazy

seems none honda people just dont understand what exacally a ek is or how capable it is

I just ignore them and say "its fun i like it"

most of the people that ask usually have 120000bhp fiestas....
 
people that aren't into the scene dont really have a clue so wouldnt worry bout it :D
 
most people will not understand , but when you line your ek up and show them a thing or two i think it will stop lol .
 
ya i totally agree, everyone with 'normal' cars when i tell them how much iv spent on my car keep saying oh you coulda got a 05 astra or 05 audi or somethin for that money

there so narrow minded all they think is the newer the car the better.

my cousin asked me recently how much i spent on the car recently..i did gearbox work got uprated clutch etc..i told her the price and she said oh its time for a new car
 
take them for a spin 1 by 1 then theyl see what its all about ;)
 
ya get this alot from people with sh1tbox corolla's
they say "its just a civic"
they really don't have a clue
 
To them a car is a tool, and driving is a chore that must be endured rather than enjoyed.

The only answer to these people is "Because I want to". Nothing else needs to be said.

people have already said others just do not understand, especially because they weren't made for UK production unless you have driven one you wouldn't no. :drive:
 
Get this all the time why u got an old Honda when u could have a new astra but I wouldn't want just any astra. Also tell them how many astras do u see on the road and how many eks then that should shut them up:)

Yes i can understand i could be driving this or that but i dont want too the the whole point it and it makes me :D
 
I get this alot aswell they dont have a clue what quality is ek9's DC2's etc... Will show up half the **** on the roads now speed n reliability wise they keep there money when new cars lose 70% of there value as soon as yoi drive them away hondas lose 40% of there vaue both based over 3 years plus the older cars are loads rarer :)
 
once you get the car, take them out in it and they will soon understand why you purchased it.... Hook 3rd lol
 
yea a astra or mondeo isnt for me im afraid like all the cars on my works car park ,I just would not enjoy driving it ,I dont think I can have "normal cars"

as im also 32 I get the boyracer calling ...ha
 
tbh loads of people ask my why i bought another crappy honda. But i'd happy pay stupid amounts of money on a car that i wanted over paying the same amount for what other people think i should buy. yes its a 10 yr old car yes its hard to insure and yes its not very economical and there is propably newer and better repalcements. But i enjoy the way it drives and the revy nature of the engine which you just dont get anymore. I'd happy drive around in a pos fiesta mk1 if i enkoyed it. at the end of the day so long as you enjoy it who cares...
 
My mate couldn't understand why I was buying a 98 civic, he said it was too old and I could have gotten a newer car for the money.

I tried to explain the b16b engine is a beast and will go on forever, the bodywork as no rust, just do some general service type work to it and it'll be better quality than half the cars on the road.

He then changed jobs (from long distance to back home) so sold his diesel golf and was looking a nippy petrol car. I suggested a ek. He laughed and bought a 2002 saxo VTR. Ended up having loads of trouble and sold it. I laughed as I just serviced my ek.

Another friend of mine recently passed his test and bought a wee 1.2 punto as his first car. I took him down to buy it and he asked why I sold my 2002 BMW 330d for an older civic, so I dropped gear and vtec'd him right up through the gears and he told me he wants an ek!! lol

lol at this, a saxo, seriously ha ive recenty spent a good few pound on fully rebuilding my engine and gearbox and people think im crazy spendin that amount of money on doing this as this doesnt come cheap, they say its money down the drain and that ill never get that money back if i ever sell the car, it does make you think abit when they say this and times i start to think, maybe i shouldnt of spent that amount on the car as there is so many other things i could of bought instead, do any of you guys ever think this or have any views on it???

agree ten fold people just dont understand who aint into hondas or just not into cars, iv spent loads on mine as im sure loads on here have, i always say what are you into??? i.e. skiing, holidays, nice house so say how much have you spent on them really?? answer is always loads, i find easiest way is to put them in same situation with something they love or have a passion for.
if they stuborn and say never spend that much on anything firstly they liein lol 2nd take them for a spin and drop the box to VTEC YO!!!!!
