Getting annoyed being slagged off for having high standards!

Ok so a few weeks ago I drove about 200 miles to look at a car but was disappointed with it and left it as it had filler in the arches and had a shitty blow over, now another forum member has the car and claims its mint and is saying I don't know what I'm looking at!

I've been in the motor trade half my life and have restored many cars to a very high standard, I know what rust and filler looks like!

Even my mate who drove me up there said that the car was no where near as good as it looked in the pictures,

The new owner clearly is not as clued up and now I'm being slated here and civic life people saying that I'm a bullshitter or have no money......

You'll get people like that everywhere dude, everyone interprets standards in a different way it seems like myself you have very particular and high standards, which IMO is a good trait.

The person who has brought the car is defending and justifying his purchase, that's why your getting grief of him!

Think you've hit the nail on the head there mate,

He's now posting pictures from the good angles!

Bottom line is the car may of been worth the money but it wasn't as described and needed work before I would be anywhere near happy

Hah, fair enough, I'm sure others will spot flaws at meets and shows! It's one of those things dude, you know your right so no matter what others say it shouldn't make the slightest difference.
 
At the end of the day, its only gonna bite him in the ass. You however, can just point and laugh when it does.

Another point to note: You asked to take close up pictures and he said he would - which hes totally avoided? :lol:

To be fair at a quick look it looks ok, untill you look a bit deeper,

When I buy a car I look very closely at everything,

One day I will find one I'm happy with hopefully

Mate, the guy's right. You do have high standards. And civic life is the best Honda forum known in this community. Besides the shite joke. The guy sounds like a knob and as Wazer already said, it will only bite him in the ass. Give it a few months and you'll see a thread about rust problems probably haha!

Civic life is a load of shite anyway, so I deliberately got myself banned on there :/

Ha ha, yeah i dont post on there but do look sometimes,

i think some people are just genuinely unaware of what a clean car actually is,

one mans minter can be another mans scrap!

i didnt tell anyone i made you delete the thread which is bullshit, the lad i talked to about the car will clear this up for you am sure as he must have got it wrong on cl

i went down to buy the car thinking its a dog and wanted it for parts and no it wasnt which i talked about it on the other thread thats all, you being in trade doesnt mean nothing to me as we are aswell, these civics is just a hobby as my spare time

taking pictures in diffrent angles doesnt mean they are for you, i took this for someone on cl who has a nosey on here now and then and likes to talk about other peaple which i will pm you an explain

i have nothing against you, you didnt like the car you posted about it thats fair enough

i went down to buy it to break thinking it was a dog and take few bits off for my own builds after i seen your thread, i wont be doing that as its pretty clean and i allreay have few buyers lined up for the whole car after i have taken the bits off that i wont

Welcome to the club mate
I made the mistake of taking someones reputation/ cars reputation and ended up with a dog that barely anything was salvageable from. The difference between very good condition in other peoples opinions clearly differs from mine.

keep your standards high and tell them to do one. it's just people who are dazzled by JDM jewellery on forums that will tend to disagree with you
