finaly, after looking at civics for a good while, i bought one
its a 2000, ej9 tropica, fsh, e/w, e/s, electric mirrors, all the usual stuff
quite high miles, its on its second timing belt, but with the fsh i didnt mind, it is a honda after all

old 306 and the new baby
2011-12-03113127.jpg

the mighty dirty engine bay, and the stock d14, minus the resantor box
couple wee bad bits, couple bits of light surface rust, back arch's, bit on the roof and bonnet, not to worried, metal is sound underneath
passenger window moves, but is slow, so likely need a motor
slight dent on the boot and front wing
plans
meister r zeta R coilovers
adjustable camber arms
some form of 15" wheel, posibly with dish
either, bride seats, or full buckets, prob brides for the start
takata harness
usual strut braces
some form of pipe
lips, dunno what ones yet
prob more, wee things like ek9 rep lights, jdm rear fog lights etc, but would be to big of list if i named it all :D

spec

Exterior
USDM style headlights
Colourcoded rear recess

Interior
NRG short hub boss
NRG gen 3 snap off boss

Good start there, keep up the work.

P.s I have oem Honda blanking plates that will fill the stereo hole.

Like the way this car is going man, keep up with the good parts too! Boggs was saying you called round to his one night too. All about the EK's! :nice:

Nice build. how much you get the car for. and insurance. im looking to buy 1

Welcome to civic/Honda ownership :nice:

Looks like a good project to restore, keep up the good work.

I see you have a NRG quick release hub on the steering wheel, do you have a short hub as well and does this move the steering wheel too far away from the indicator stalks? Trying to do something similar myself.

welcome to the forum mate, i've also got a tropica ;)
last forever :))

Looking good mate. Nice transformation, can't wait to see what else you do with it :)

cheers everyone, its a project, hope to get it tidied up alot more for summer

eternal blue 2000 - your on n.i HOC arnt you, think i reganise msot of the stuff you got for sale, and might be on to you looking a few things

kipper - yeh, wanted a run in a car with meisters before i bought them, that is a real nice car of his

ray888 - yeh, nrg short hub aswell, it does move it brave and far from the stalks

got wind deflectors coming for it, hopefully be here tomorrow or next week, just needa get my passenger window working now :D

Welcome, nice looking car you got. Just one question, how come you have a pre-face lift centre console? Or do all EJ's have them?

ray888 - yeh, nrg short hub aswell, it does move it brave and far from the stalks

Cheers for the pic, it would of been better if you're steering wheel wasn't dished, nice bit of kit though, good luck with the rest of your build, will keep an eye out for it.

lookin good! got the NRG quick release too! but 2.5 gen, one of my fave mods! need to get a short hub in my life though!

cheers everyone, finished debadging it there tonight, will get pic's up tomorrow

also my import plates finaly showed up, need stickies for the rear and white plastic bolts for the front, dunno if stickies would hold it, so will likely be wednesday or so before i get them on her

few pic's with my brother ep2, got a drive in it, and spent all my time looking in the mirror at the ej9 following, its to mordern for me, everything is to far away from the driver, you sit to high, you can see any of the bonnet unless your head is on the windscreen, and the 1.4 is near fit for the sport anyway :D, show it a bend and the ej9 is past the ep2
he's planning a type r rep, with tints and wind deflectors, not big into car's as he races bikes, i tend to be the mad car one in the house :D

thought i should through up a wee photo
a nice ek9 steering rack(thanks to vtec performance), i count 2.7 turns lock to lock, very very happy

how did you tilt your spoiler mate? thinking about doing mine on my EJ9. just unsure of how to do it?

the first time, as in the pic's, i unscrewed the spoiler and took it off, then the two nuts holding on the rear, i screwed back on, put the spoiler back on and bolted the front back down

if that makes sense :D
