Bodywork had hardly any damage but this is what it done to my rear axel!

My car was pushed atleast a whole cars length forward with the handbrake on!

This stupid learner f***ing car, smashed into my axel and flipped itself over!

WHAT KIND OF DAMAGE AM I LOOKING AT? Written off? I really hope not, took me a year to find this!

How fast would the other car be having to travel for such an impact?

I'm not sure how much REAL damage has been to car!

I just hope that its not written off and would appreciate if people could give me an idea of the amount of damage has been done to the car!

It was parked, with the handbrake on, on impact moved a whole cars length forward and bodywork seems to be minimal most likely scuffs/ dents on arch!

Looks like the rear wheel has taken the whole impact! :nono:

That looks bad mate, how did the twat manange to do that in a 30 zone old bloke in a micra by any chance??

Couldnt tell you if its a write off dont know much about it!!

But bad luck id av gone mad.

30 zone, nah man speed bumps! 20 MPH ZONE

Exactly what i'm thinking! How can this happen?

It was a driving instructors car!!!

thats unlucky,
you may be lucky and find your trailing arm has taken the impact and that the suspension/body mounting points are ok.
but its impossible to say with out inspecting it doing measurements etc.
hope you get it sorted ok.

The damage wont be as bad as you think, but the insurance company wont see it like that. 99% of the damage will be to the rear trailing arm, as the area where the hub shaft meets the trailing arm will twist in a an accident. I did exactly the same and will dig a pic out for you now. All I had to replace was the rear trailing arm which was £70 although an EK9 one will be a bit more 2nd hand.

Unfortunately if you go through the insurance (which you should do as it wasnt your fault) then they will write that off on a Cat D going on prices for new parts from Honda, especially as the rear quarter is damaged (this writes car off on its own in some cases). Your only other option is to get some quotes from garages you know but get them to quote low (if your happy for them to fit 2nd hand parts) and hope the insurance company go for it.

Either way its a crap situation mate :nono:

wow unlucky mate that is a gutter.
What the hell were they doin 2 b able 2 topple the car?

The rear axle is bend anyway, ur never gonna get the same cornering and trackfeeling with the car if its fixxed, just parted out an ITRdc2 with simular damage, got some pics of the axle (the part between the LCA's where ur swaybar is mounted on, its bent about 10 degrees, good luck! :((

i have a little bit of experience with body repair! its my job and i hate it when people say stuff like that! if its fixed properly and alignment is correct then it will be fine

I take it the chances are high that it's an insurance write off.

Although a part of me believes it still can be fixed, but as 'fastfwd' mentioned, will I get the same performance from it again?

If it's a write off, how do they value the car? Alarm fitted, exhaust system etc?

bloody hell ! looks like somethin out a movie, could of it any car in the street and it had to hit your 9... sorry to see man:angry: i`m sure you`ll get it up and runnin again in no time:nice:

Holy Crap! Unlucky man. Well as said above, it will be the suspension/trailing arm/hub and LCA that will have taken most of the damage. Did you look in around where the top mount of the suspension bolts into the chassis? Thats what I'd be worried about tbh! It's very fixable apart from that though!

oh ****, thats my mates dads micra! Is it a bearded guy from hall green??
shame about the ek4, cant believe it. your car was a minter.

damn, I'm glad you were not inside the car! hope the other driver didn't suffer of any injury, how insurance work in your country? In my country repairing that kind of damage hmm the bill should be around 600 $

First off, the insurance will go on book prices or prices of similiar cars for sale at the present time. As for your exhaust etc, have you insured it as a modified car? If not I suggest you remove the mods rather quickly !!!

RVM........there is no way in hell any place would repair that for £300, Welcome to the UK :)

As "b16 mini" said, damage usually looks a lot worse to those who are not in the trade and there are people and equipment out there to repair chassis damage properly.

From the direction of impact, I would suggest the trailing arm has taken most of the damage with the LCA bushes absorning the rest, leaving the rear subframe free from damage (Just my opinion on the pics provided).

All I had to reaplce was the trailing arm on the above EK....there is hope for you mate :nice:

hope it isnt too bad. Its common for the subframe to get damaged with this kind of thing.
There a few EK9s being parted out so get some parts and Good-luck. Hope the SF isnt damaged

That is so harsh ! one of the downsides of having to park on the road, your nearer to all the T**** in our country. Im not to sure on the in's and outs but if they write it off can you not buy it off them and repair it yourself ? If the damage has not touched the subframe you will be ok. I would have gone mad to dam people who cant drive does my head in !

All you got to think althought its annoying that no one is hurt!

I hope you get it sorted! keep us posted!

I've added more pics of the actual damage now, hope it can help further to assess the damage done
