EM_DEE's EM1 BUILD

Alright so I finally got it in! With the right bolts etc. I never thought installing a seat could be soo frustrating! On the other hand, I never knew bride rails sit soo low! This is going to take some getting used to..

Acouple pics from today; a comparison, recaro vs the stock EM1 seat and a teaser pic. Hopefully if the weather holds up tomorrow I'll get acouple more!

the em1 in the states has a different head rest so werid . those are like the base model seats here

^ Yeah it's weird like that hey?

Like we have, ABS, Side Markers, Power Mirrors etc But you guys don't? I always wondered why..

Anyway, I managed to get out for acouple of shots even though the weather is pretty crappy..

Wow that looks sick!

I got the same car but the Canadian version. Civic SiR

I put in some integra seats tho, they do just fine for me.

AUGUST

Ok so I thought I wasn't going have a set of aftermarket rims on my car for awhile, as I just brought the seat and am strapped for cash. But looks like splurging has won again! :/

Whilst looking on forums and websites as regular. I came across a set of Rays Work CV-PROs at a decent price with tires They were tempting and I tried to talk myself out of it, but since the guy was just one suburb down from me I had to go and check them out anyway. Turns out it was also a mates mate. So anyway, long story short, sussing them out was followed by "test fitting" (one pair is 16x7 and one 16x8; I wanted the 8s on the rear..). I thought everything was going good until i tried to roll the car on the driveway when we got the rear wheel on. Reving reving reving, the car wouldn't roll. The wheel was obviously touching something on the inside.. So we decided to use a 6mm slip on spacer (yes I know, they're kinda dangerous) on the rear. That helped alittle but was still getting suck/rubbing.

So I bit the bullet and even though I couldn't get them on I thought I'd take them. I was hoping if I got a camber kit for the rear it'll help in fitting the rear wheels. So a BuddyClub Rear Camber kit was ordered..

I the wheels sat in my garage for acouple days. Then i decided to give them a clean, inside and out. They were covered with brake dust!

It took forever to do all of the wheels. I got abit lazy around the studs..

After..

Tease fits..

In the mean time I brought some MTF for a transmission service which was long over due. And got my camber kit!

I called around to tyer places and they were charging an arm and a leg to fit the wheels / camber kit / wheel alignment!

I was thinking, since I was going to do the MTF service I'd give it ago and ask the guy doing the service if he can sus out the kit and the wheels.

He agreed to give it a shot. And not too long after I got a call back saying the kits on, but the wheels still arn't fitting on the rear.. I asked him to keep trying to even ask the guy that does wheel alignments for him to give it a shot.

Anyway, I was doubting to get them on that night (yesterday) but to my surprise he got them to fit! :nice:

Pics from last night..

Next will be to probably, find some genuine center caps, roll the rear fenders, get bolt on spacers and drop her acouple more cm, just to get it sitting right..

Gud Day mate xD
get her her set of OEM winddeflectors and rear lip
and your sorted mate

^ Cheers mate.

Yeah I'm wanting some window visors and a rear lip. Although, the rear lips are alittle hard to find in Australia though..

Also wouldn't mind a rear window roof visor!

So last week was a fair bit crappy..

First I parked at school where I usually do, up the front. Was only there from 5pm - 7pm. Got home, and something on the front of my car caught my eye. Not knowing what it was, I turned on the front house light and I found..

Wasn't very happy. At first I thought maybe it could have been a car (but there was no one in the car park, and if it was a car, my front bar would have got damaged as well.) Then I realized the dent/pattern looked alot like a work boot, as if someone stepped on it with their heel.

Well whatever it is, there was a dent on my bonnet, and I wasn't happy at all. There are also no cameras facing that car park. Which also sucks.

So it was time for a temporary fix..

The day after this, I noticed on of my tires was flat. So I went to pump it up, at a petrol station but none of the compressors fit on the valve as it was too small. Tried using an extension but still wouldn't pump. So went to the "Tyre Factory" next door to where I got the extensions.

I asked them to pump up the wheels for me, just so I could see if it's leaking and where from.

The dude pumps it up, I go to get it off him. He tells me he'd be a minute. Takes the tire to the back, comes back. And gets a angle grinder and puts it to the rim! :wow:
After a huge bang, I ask him what he's doing. Got no reply. He seemed to be trying to "replace" the valve? Half hour later, comes back saying h can't fix it cos the jap valves are to small and the Aussie valves can't fit in the hole! :angry2:

He then goes on, blah blah, saying I need to either get another jap valve, or get the hole engineered to get it bored out bigger.

I went on to tell him, I ONLY wanted to get it pumped up. And they kept saying that the valve was leaking. They never gave a receipt for this (because it was only suppose to be pumped, and I think the guy thought he was doing my a favor) so I have nothing to show what they did. And the manager in charge at the time had okay'd / told me he'd take care of the job (pumping up the tire).

Sooooo now I'm back to rolling on stock as I don't want the mix matched look.

I went to a place who deals with ordering wheels (RAYS, WORK etc) straight from japan and asked them what they think. The guy said that my chances of getting another one are really slim, since the design is so old, and they have more then likely updated the valves etc. And also that he has no idea why you would cut off the valve stem.

He told me to come back later in the week, and he would try and get in touch with dealers japan to see if they can help out.

Ahh not good..

Lovely coupe you have! but that is sickening all the bad luck you've been having..at least you had the old wheels still!

SEPTEMBER

Purchased a Bride Zeta II for the drivers side so now I can move the Recaro to the passenger. Just waiting on the passenger rails now..

DECEMBER

After realising I it was hard finding genuine old school work valve stems I decided to sell them off to someone who could work with them.

Awhile after I saved some cash and brought some new shoes!

Gramlights..
