Another thing I forgot to mention about those pistons. You'll need to bend the oil squirters to clear the piston skirt. Just a careful slight bend in them is enough but be sure to double check when the rotating assembly is all fitted.

I was looking at that today thinking the same thing, was going to ask you!
They say it should be 030 thou clearance from the bottom of the skirt.
With the stroked crank will the piston decend further? Or is the longer stroke at the top? Or have it got it completely wrong?
 
That's it 30 thou. Yes the piston comes down further. You'll notice the bottom of the skirt pokes out the cylinder at bdc.
I MAY (very big may) have a set pre bent I pulled from a block I got once. I've been meaning to sort out your cooler pipes but had my own little fiasco going on this week.

I'll update my thread. Technical issues, dw everyone I've not ****** it yet!
 
Cleaned the block up this morning, the gunk de-greaser worked well.




 
Haha it would be nice to get all the parts ultra sonically cleaned but this did a good job to be fair.
 
Yeah mine ended up in an acid bath a few times. Just needs to be clean as you can get it. Not down to a bacteria level but dirt etc
 
You just need a big plastic storage box and a sander !

Haha that is cool! I've got a old bathtub at home that I could use. May need a big sander for that!

Yeh I'd like to get it cleaner, will have another go at it.
Might see if my machine shop has a acid bath.

Block and Pistons are going to the machine shop tomorrow morning, and the crank and rods are going too for a check over.
 
Parts collecting seems to be going well sam!
I found those cooler lines but not the thermo plate just yet.
 
I love it when a new part arrives!
May have another surprise tomorrow!

No unfortunately not yet :nerv:
It was a parcel coming from closer to home, but it would appear that the courier didn't collect the parcel!!! :angry2:
 
Just got back from a parts collection mission! The courier failed to collect so I went myself after work.
Picked up more than I thought :naughty:
Very happy with my purchases.
Will update with pictures and what I bought in a couple of weeks.

I'm getting married next Wednesday in Devon! :)):meet:
So won't have any updates for a wee while.

Lots will be happening soon though!
