EK9 Racecar


And it would appear I've caught the track bug hard!

I spoke to the misses and said about making the 9 a full on stripped out track / race car....

She said YES do it! I think she caught the bug too!!!!! :troll:

So I never thought I'd do this but she is going to be a full on track whip!
All standard interior trim etc will be for sale soon!
 
Awesome stuff dude, and might need to get a few bits of trim off you if you are selling stuff!

The track conditions were good, nice and dry, was a bit cold though! But that didn't matter.
Smooth is fast! So I'm told...

It was amazing, can't describe how much fun it was. The organiser did say the smile on my face every time I came in said it all!
Haha maybe in years to come!

When's your next outing at coombe? My cars coming together now and coombe is my closest track, may see you there one day!

Fixed back seats will be soon ish, maybe later in the year.

Ah cool! That would be great to meet at Combe. I haven't looked yet but was planning another in the next couple of months. Have you got a date for Combe?

Cool, door bars as well?
Not got a date planned, just planning to get out some time this year, still got a fair bit to do on the car before it's ready for action, it's getting there though...... Sort of

Just lots of bits and pieces to finish up like plumbing and bleeding brakes, a few things in the engine bay to fit, like radiator, oil cooler etc,

Oh and respray most of the exterior of the car,

I should really update my build thread

Watched it on tacho break this morning. Going well for your first trackday bud! My first time was terrible lol
What tyres did you run in the end? The ad08r?

Yeh used the ad08'r. The bigger wheels have got to go.
I'm going to get some 15" rota slipstreams in time, and I'll upgrade the tyres to something more track focused, and keep the original wheels for getting to the track, then put the track wheels on when I'm there.

Need to sort brakes out first though!
 
Yeah looked to have gone well. You'll get to grips with the lift off oversteer eventually and start playing with it to turn the car.

yeah I usually do the same, to the track on crappy, old, knackered oem wheels with budgets on. Then swap for my semis once I get there. Think I'm going to get another set of semi slicks/high performance tyre for another set of wheels and just ditch the oems. Looks retarded having 6.5" wheels in my pulled/flared/spaced wings lol

Yeh that's what people seem to do, makes sense really.

Yeh standard wheels would look a bit odd with your wings! But it's all about the track! Doesn't matter to and from.

Standard brakes ATM, I've got some project Mu n800 pads front and rear at Combe. Got a good deal on them! I haven't fitted them yet.
My brakes got so got on Saturday I have fractured the friction material on the standard pads and warped the nsf brake disc!!!
So need a new set of discs.
I have standard 282mm brakes, I had no trouble with fade or performance at all, just heat!
So was looking at getting some uprated discs to go with the pads rpb discs any good?
