ek9 152 bhp?

i am in a similar situation?????

what kind of dyno was it taken on and where was it?

east coast performance?????????

i got 174.8 bhp at the fly in an 98 spec jdm b18c teg engine'd EK9 with fujitsubo catback and decat,j's racing air filter and mugen ECU?????

this was at santapod on a mobile dyno(rapid GB)

dyno figures can be out, if everything is serviced and timing is correct etc and air fuel ratio is all good and compression is fine then all is ok, bhp figures are pub talk only tbh.

As said above give it a full service(all new fliuds and filters and plugs etc) and check the timing is ok after that try a compression test and see what thats like as with most high reving hondas they do suffer from piston ring wear

i will get a service done.is the black bits on the back bumper normal? it dose about 50 miles to 20 pound of fuel.thats not right.it must be running very rich?

i agree dyno figures are pub talk mines running around 157bhp at the fly however it pulls like a bastered none of this being beaten by a clio:shocked: however i can feel it needs a remap + new exhaust which is buggered :nice: as everyones said just do a full service once id done mine when i first got it that made a load of difference :nice:

ahh right.makes me feel alot better.i fort there was somthing wrong with it.has anyone else had the same problem on low power on dyno?

hi there

am a new user on the ek9 forum so excuse us if i get mistaken with something.

was just reading trough this tread and i also have the same problem, got my ek9 dyno'd yesterday and got 155bhp and the mods i have on the car are full stainless steal xhaust 2.5inch from decat and 4 inch back bock, jasma stampd 4-2-1 mani, aem long are induction, skunk2 inlet bored out 70mm, blox tb 70mm, igntion leads and a map on crome, the car pulls well in and out of vtec with no smoke, the vtec is aggressive as it should be and the power band is all the way, i have raced a friends ek9 with the same type of mods and i was a car gap in front and also stick with my friends dc5 up till 4th gear but the dc5 is totaly standard. still i am seeing low figures on the dyno would be really help full if somebody could help us out here

thanks

50 miles to £20? At £5 a gallon it works out at 50/4=12.5mpg!

155 whp? what torque?

So it sticks with a dc5 till top end and your expecting more from your 1.6 - great. It also sticks with another ek9... I dont see a problem unless your wanting 250bhp from bolt ons?

also sounds asif it's running very rich, who mapped it?

WTF...U doing wid 18s on an EK9??? U wasting a good car by ******* up the performance and the suspension. Go smaller....u will see how much more acceleration u get.

The 18 inch wheels can't be doing your car any good pressure on drive shafts and gearbox, I bet if you change the wheels you would stand a chance with Clio, give it a full service and compression test, then go from there but get shoot of the wheels ASAP lol

Guys, the OP with 18" wheels posted in 2008, this is a bump.

Ignore the rolling road figure. It's clearly inaccurate.

Garage786 mapped the car for me a bloke called yasser, I don't want to see 250whp with bolt ons but was just a bit gutted to see 155whp, so should I ignore the dyno

Thanks for your help much appreciated guys

Ah, 155whp, that's fine.

Those bolt ons aren't going to make that much power TBH.

So should I ignore the dyno numbers or should I get a compression test done

Thanks agen

Its sticks with another ek9 and dc5 and 155whp is closer to 200 @ fly. Pretty decent figures from bolt ons in my opinion - probably a 'happy' dyno.

Nothing immediately appears wrong with the car/engine, I would ignore then dyno figures. :nice:
