As above, does this work or will I need gears from an ek9 or 96 spec box?

Yes that will work,I have same set up waiting to go into my S80 but in two minds if I'm going to go ahead as I like the longer 4th+5th for motorway etc.

Cheers for the reply Ricky, yea I'm thinking the sand myself, might only put 4th in.

Yea thinking the same myself going just with 4th,thou that will mean there will be a bigger drop from 4th to 5th in revs but dont think i will be topping out in 4th gear on public roads so aint bothered :blabla:

Why are you looking to change the gears must be because your racing or on track fairly often?

If thats the case just do both otherwise the drop on track will just be horrible.

And its a hell of a lot of work to strip the box open and only change one gear just not worth the effort. Just dont go faster than 70mph on the motorway.

I reckon a huge drop to 5th would get annoying pretty quickly...

The gearbox will be out anyway as im fitting a new oem clutch and my contact can do the gears also at the same time, few other local members on here had the 4.7 final drive fitted to their EK9 S4C boxes and thats the exact same set up as putting the S4C 4th+5th into a S80 (4.7 FD) box.

The above is drivable on public roads which i do most of my driving.

Yea wondering what that would be like as i dont know anybody with experience of it, i can see myself just staying with the 4.7 S80 set up and doing the clutch :nice:
