Hows it going?

I have a 96 spec Dc2, I bought it with koni adjustable dampers and tenzo lowering springs already fitted. I'd like to change the springs to Eibach pro kit springs and am wondering will these fit with the Koni dampers??

I'm not sure exactly which koni dampers are on it, I just know they're adjustable. I'm assuming if there are Tenzo springs already on it then the Eibachs will fit as well, but I just want to check first before I buy the Eibach pro kit.

Thanks

yes will fit :nice: fyi tenzo is the crappies spring ever! You will be happy with any change, but i suggest you look into the GroundControl koni specific coilover sleeves. That way you have height adjustment also.

Thanks, Yeah thats why I want to change them, not bothered about adjustable height. They are too low as well and I reckon the Eibach pro kit 25mm drop will be just right.

The previous owner didn't have a clue, 17" wheels, Vtec controller , pillar pod gauges. Hopefully rectify this to 16" wheels, remove vtec controller. Is removing Vtec controller handy enough??

You should still get the coilover sleeves, that way you can set your car exactly how you want and it will be even.

I found a cheap set of Eibach springs that should do the trick. Surely it will be even with the Eibach springs on??

as long as the wheels don't rub and it sits nice I don't care, its a daily driver with very occasional track use.

Agree with blinx - so much better when you can adjust the height of the car perfectly all round. IMO the drop offered by a spring kit is very rarely perfect.

Eibach is certainly one of the better brands and the variation will probably be so small you can't see it, Tein and HR seem to have even drops also, those are the only brands i have seen/used that had an even drop.

Eibach and koni front adjustable shockers is a VERY hard ride i've used the two before and the result was buckled wheels, tracking had to be done all the time, mega tyre wear on the insides new tyres every few months. The roads are pretty good around here aswell a few odd potholes.

No idear if yours will be like this but its just my experience.

The good side = your never miss an apex :drive:

also the eibachs were uneven one side was obviously higher than the other, now have tein springs on they sit perfect. But dont get me wrong the eibach springs are very good just too hard on non damper ajustable shockers. ( you can ajust the fronts but soft = mega hard lol hard = a trip to the dentist.

but just my opinion on this.

Smithy18 thanks for your experience with the mentioned setup, it has turned me off now. The roads in Ireland are not the best at all and would be worse than the UK, so I don't want to end up with the experience you had or even worse.

The car is mainly a daily driver, so does anyone have any suggestions on springs that would be good with these Koni Dampers, I'm looking for around 20-25mm drop with a slightly firmer ride than stock springs. I'm not competing on track and just do track days for the fun, so it's mainly for a daily driver application.

Eibach springs are really good on standard shocks and give a great ride height, its the bloody Koni's that kill, I have the koni yellows with dampening adjustment and its really hard with the tanabe progressive springs, and this is on the softest setting...

if you want a really nice ride height and good controll go eibach springs with the OEM ITR shocks!

Just my 2 p

I run Koni Yellows with Eibachs pro kit springs on my EM1 and couldnt be happier with them. They are perfectly balanced between firm (note: NOT hard) and being able to cope with bumps.
If you crank the konis all the way to hard then you might struggle but I use them on the softer setting and they cope brilliantly with the crappy roads round here

Thanks for all the input lads.

Quick update :Went for the Eibachs anyway, really happy with them, firm but not too hard. World of difference between the crappy Tenzo springs. Real comfy on road, might even firm the dampers up.

Got them real cheap off Carnage on here, really clean with hardly any mileage on them for €150 delivered. Great stuff, not too low either, the previous owner had the car way too low and damaged the mugen exh. mani. beyond repair

Got a new DC sports mani cheap as well, changed the 17"s to 16"s with proper tyres :nice: and a few other bits, running really well, a few bits left to do but all in all very happy

i got an ej9 and i ll swap to b18c u purchased kayab AGX and eibach springs 30mm :))
