Gave my civic a little bit of throttle and BANG!!

So im on the look out for a N/S drive shaft...

99' ITR to fit my S80 Gearbox..

I wish!!! was way before that as id just pulled off..

Owch !! How the hell ??...

I think there used to be a small rubber balancer where the break is..

so im guessin time and the wounderful salt roads we get in the winter hav taken there toll..

An as far as im aware at the moment you can only get shafts from Honda!!! so its off the road for a bit till i find a replacement..
 
never seen a honda driveshaft break like that before. You probably can get one of ebay mate for around 80-100 quid
 
thats crazy..first time ive seen like that too...good luck hunting on replacement

Lol i wish i was making 1000bhp!!!!

Ive had it happen on few of my customers cars.... Extremely rare mind.. an i wasnt giving it full throttle.. i thought it had jumped outta gear at first.. but after the noise it made thought maybe the CV joint had failed.. no such luck.. snapped it in two!!! nevermind S*!T happens i guess. lol :))

iv seen a honda mb6 b18c4 breaking a shaft like that before,running 180bhp flywheel,happen hitiing 2nd gear on limiter,same place taa,
sure that shaft hasnt been broke before welded up previously?

No im pretty sure its never been repaired.. Ive had it apart a few times while doing other jobs on it over the years.. CV boots and suspension bushes an its been on there for 4yrs... ever since the B18 went in.. i thought the CV joint would give me the trouble as its the EK4 one thats done over 136'000!! but its still going strong and does'nt even click on full lock..

My engine is running standard apart from exhaust and filter so nothing special...

Does look like its almost twisted it like a straw!!! lol :)

thats wat happened my drive when i broke it. some of the shittiest welding ive ever seen too
 
i have just the shaft you need, i can do it for 50quid, but i can only get it here in uk at the end of the month because i have it in portugal.. and at the end of the month i need to go there..

I feel for you mate, my mate did a u-turn at 5mph and his ball joint snapped, had to get it trailered home...
