Whats everyone using for the in-car video's and what mounts etc..?

Was looking at go-pro's but seem a bit expensive for the amount I will use the thing, any other alternatives or suggestions or sample clips? Want one with a good microphone aswell.

Any help is appreciated.

Cheers
Kris

go-pro are very good, even though they are expensive but you get your moneys worth, have you tried ebay?

Another go-pro recommendation here.
Although I'm gutted I can put the videos on my iPhone. But that's the phones fault

have a GoPro myself

class bit of kit and are worth good money second hand so you can always sell them on and get most of your money back

Another GoPro recommendation from myself. Excellent value for money.

go pro motorsport edition aswell, altho the the power button can rattle and you will hear it in the footage, ive only tested it on the roads near me which are not the smoothest, maybe on track it would be alot better

I use the gopro hero2 very good camera and easy to use. Other option is the flip HD cheaper but still produces a good video.

Go pro are very good, used them a few times. If you can't stretch to the price of a Gopro the Drift HD170 are good, I have one and they are great quality and can get a suction mount for them aswell to stick on outside or inside of car. They have brought some newer versions out aswell now with better screens:

Argos have the hero 2s on sale the now at £199?
Well worth the money, sound is excellent on them too.

Go pro is awesome,,, if you get the open case you can buy a cheap ish mic with a long wire and put it in the bay near the intake for epic sound (it has a mini jack input) ;)

Hey guys,

I'm thinking about going for one of these GO-PRO cameras, the GO-PRO HD Hero 3 Motorsport Edition however they're a fair bit of wedge to buy, have also read that the sound isn't too great off them either.

Can anyone recommmed a place to get one from that's selling them cheaper than the likes of Argos/Amazon et al?

Also what is this external speaker/mic that you need get to improve the noise and how much do they normally cost?

Thanks.

I bought a m4/3 camera with optical stabiliser for 150 quid, brand new. So I got a huge sensor, relatively good and swappable lens, optical stabilizer and very good software in the camera. Combine this with a holder and it should be a great combination. I think the pro is that the image quality compared to a go pro is better but I guess it's less accident-proof. I would never mount it outside the car.

from what i see at the trackday and from youtube videos, Go-pro seems to be the one to go for. Doesnt drop frames and has good video and sound quality.
