Dans EK9 Type R

Your cars look great, Dan. I've never seen it/them in the flesh. I used to be on tgtt with my silver ep82 (sold now :( ) Whereabouts in Surrey are you? When are you chaps heading to the ring? When are all the major jap shows? i've lost touch with knowing when anything is and where!

Thanks Simon. Yes i recognize the name. We headed down the ring beginning of April, was truly amazing. Us lot are out most weekends in the car. Japfest is on the 15th May dude if you can make it.

read the whole build thread... congrats:bow:

Thanks you mate :)

Update:

Well i know exactly where im going with the car now, Just want to track the car + fun. Nothing else.

So heres the update. Getting rid of everything i dont need. Now i need to source some Fibreglass panels :naughty: ... I even removed SRS. I have a swede light weight steering wheel to go on next week.

Was so tempted to remove speakers/headunit but for now they are staying.
Also possible perspex windows but thats undecided yet. Anyway........

Loving the track focused ek9 there bud! One question, what is it like driving a car that is stripped and loud etc the whole way to the ring?

Thanks buddy. The car is very loud! If noise is a bother i wouldnt recommend it too much. But for the amount i drive my car(not much) its tolerable.

My rear is stripped but I just got a bung for the n1 for long journeys and if it was still a pain my work has as many earplugs as I need lol

Do you have a daily car aswell I take it?

lol, ear plugs are not a bad idea!

I have a van thats used for work but if i wanted i can also use for running around in so there is no need for a daily really.

Loving it mate, wish i was still in a position to have a track EK9!:nice:

They are amazing on track ant they!:drive:

It's a dangerous thing going away with a group of EK9 track nuts for a long weekend eh?

Car is looking good Dan, particularly liked where you put the fire extinguisher, very tidy!! :)

They are right fun little cars for sure! I try and look after them as best as i can :)

Small update:

* Put orange OEM side repeaters back on,

* Sun strip installed due to having no sun visors any more,

* Painted some of the interior metal,

* Generally going through the whole car and any patches of surface rust is being grinded away/repainted in hamerite(behind bumpers/underneath etc etc). Including panel above radiator which i hand painted/not the best finish but its done the job for now,

* More tidying of the engine bays/sorting wires out etc etc.

* Dished swede steering wheel installed

The wheel is superb, the grip is great and has changed the seating position far better by miles. Has put made teh steering wheel alot nearer to the body and enabling me to put the seat back more extending my legs straighter. Amazing racing/driving position now.

I hate you Dan.

Glad to see what you've done with her though, the additional stripping & new wheel looks amazing. I just don't like the fact that I need a wheel like that even more now I've seen your pic. Fancy PM'ing me how much you paid for that little beauty?
