d2 coilovers

Even though D2 and KSport are basically the same, its the Ksports that tend to leak, NOT D2.

I am running F2 coilovers, made in the same factory as D2 and KSport. Had these for 2 years and still good.

And for those who are complaining about harsh ride. Why did you buy coilovers in the 1st place?

I've seen more TEIN's failing than D2's ;)

I have D2's on my EK3 ViRS and i think theyre pretty good. The ride is comfortable with them but having said that i have screwed the damping right down to full soft and then up full hard and noticed bugger all difference in the ride quality. The only problem i have with them is when i hit a sharp bump on the road there is a muffled metallic thud from the front shocks, i dont know if its the springs rattling in the metal top mounts or something else, the rears are fine and make no noises. I have no idea what the spring rates are as they were fitted to the car when i bought it, but i'd imagine theyre fairly soft. I have spoon N1 coilovers in my 96spec ITR with 14kg front springs and 12kg rears and even though the car is more solid it rides the bumps smoother and soaks up bumps better than the D2s. But i expect thats why spoon N1s are 4 times the price of the D2s. Bang for buck i like them and have no reason to change them anytime soon.

i drive whit cusco zero 2 and its amazing!!!
u can do your car enything and u control it perfect all the time .

:bow:to cusco :)

Yep my friend had cusco coilovers on his ek9 and they were very good i think his were cusco comp s

How low would you say anybody with d2s could go?
By the way are the RS 1s the 1s that dont leak?
Cheers

yes D2's go as low as 120mm
i have them on my B20EK atm stiff is pretty stiff but i also have Skunk2 lca, asr and beaks bar as well as Z bar in the rear!
think they 11f 9R
as said i think they handle well and are great for the price
IIRC i paid something like 430 shipped
i would like to try the buddyclubs though, heard nothing but good things about them

that was the crx that did that time i dont think that is using d2s

no do think it has d2 coilover and must point out that it is a ex j's racing ef crx used by j's racing in competitions and which are imo one of the best japanese honda modification companies in japan, at least 95% of that crx still has all the j's gear in it that came with it which isn't a bad thing;)

D2 are a budget kit, the alignment is easily knocked out by pot holes etc due to the slot design. I would pay a touch more for another kit imo.

Are the rear lower arms different on a ek9 compared to a ek4 or is it just the JDM eg6 SIR2 and UK eg6 VTi that are different?
Dunx

I would also like to know this? as always loved the look of aftermarket lca's as had them on my eg :) they were d2, also had d2 coilovers aswell and never had any problems with them!

They are different Dunx
But a Ek9 LCA will fit on an Ek4 if you use Ek9 Suspension... and vice versa

the lca are the same on both the ek4 and 9 and the suspention from each car fit each other just the ctr has a better parts

so how come the ek4 LCA wont fit a ek9 or the ek4 shock fit an ek9

arite the lcas are the same as i have fitted them so noone can say they aint the same . and the shocks fit the same also .

ye know we have fitted ek4 parts to ek9 and we got them to fit ok thats why i want to know how they dont fit lol

i must point out that d2 have revised there coilovers since late 2007 and since have fixed any problems they had with the old versions because they cleaned up there act and now all coilovers have tuv approval

ive heard bad stuff about D2... but i live in Barbados and the roads r crappy and im pretty low but i havn't had any problems...
