Crail Quater Mile - 08/02/2009 ???

yes it will be diferent, but should not be extremely different, not to the point that it is causing him concern, thats the point i am making and you are missing,

anyway i'm sure it will be well and truely sorted out soon!!

I think thats the point he's trying to make dude earlier in the thread H20RBO said that he run lean when up the strip this came across to me anyway that he was concerned about the reading he got now i think Kamikaze is trying to find out the reading to maybe help/advise, in the true friendly spirit of the club

My reading wasnt down to the Map, before crail I was getting constant 13.5 AFR on full throttle - It was my first run at crail it went lean, bearing in mind my car has been mapped for 7 months now and never had any problems before. It will be all sorted next month with a New Map with S300, full throttle shift, Launch Controll and a few other shiney bits :nice:

I strongly believe my car is capable of a Very high 12 second quater mile. Just need the right map - 13.4 running VERY lean, not too bad I think. Just need to get better off the line howver that is impossible FWD at crail - 2.25 in my best 60ft. Thats with the longer first gear and 888s. I will be running some new drag rubber next time so hopefully get down to a 2 second flat 60ft. Fingers crossed. Plus will be losing a few KG's with the carbon fibre on order.

So when are Mr Kamakazi and Jammie gonna reveal their identities ??

Cheers, Andy

is crail high up? altitude can effect your afr's

anyway, good luck, with all those new goodies you should be in with a good chance of seeing the 12's:nice:

Its right on the coast mate not high up at all, theres a lot of discerning factors concerning crail when comparing times the english etc claim that are times are out of sink because our quarter runs ever so slightly downhill but as im sure the fellow scots on this board that have used crail will know and agree with the fact that the startline is more slippy than a grease down in a turkish sweat bath more than evens up the times between Crail and a 'proper' strip. I know someone that is very nervous about running his car at a proper drag strip because the grip available will probably spell the end for his shafts whereas at Crail he just rides out the wheelspin!!

The AFR Situation would worry me a lot more than it seems to be worrying H20RBO if it has been running a consistent near perfect burn ratio of 13.5 and it suddenly runs lean i would be checking everything what about vac lines ? Is there one that has a pin prick hole ? did your fpr vac line come off? Did you do any investigation at all into the sudden dip in AFR?

sounds a lot like our local strip, old air base, slightly down hill, but up hill at end, crappy surface etc, un reliable timing gear as well, oh and we only get two rwyb a year:((

Just fyi, vac lines wont affect AFR at full throttle at all. Nor would they at idle EXCEPT the fpr which would make it run richer :nice:

That sounds pretty mad.

York dragway has a good strip but is again on an old airbase and the loop road back to the start is just old wrecked / cracked/ uneven concrete bone-shaking & suspension wearign material.

some guys have stopped going to crail purely because of the return road ive seen much better farm tracks at least some of them are tarred ill see if i can get a pic to see what i meanabout the view

best i could really find

Crail was on the sunday bud and I went home offshore on the monday so had no real time to investigate.. Im sure Will will sort it out :D

Lol to be honest mate im not worried atol, if my bottom end was to go I would just dip into my bank account and go all out forged b18 turbo set-up. I have been in talks with Will about a forged engine build for a while so I will wait and see what happens. Gonna get my 9 looking pretty again tho, a few carbon bits here and there and a few other little things.

Cheers, Andy :nice:

Great times Stuartwilkie, look forward to seeing you at banzai!:nice:
