hey guys, before i go any further i'd like to point out that suspension is not my strong point so some of this may make me sound like a total noob lol.

So when my student loan comes thru in a couple of weeks i'm gonna change my standard suspension to a set of coilovers.
Dont wana spend loads on the coilovers themselfs (approx £800 max) so was reading thru all the threads and come accross 2 common ones.

The buddy club n+ spec and the tein superstreet both of which fit into my budget.

As far as i can see the tein set up would be much cheaper since the pillow upper mounts seem useless on a double wish bone setup so would come in at just under £600, and they can be serviced in the uk if need be however the buddyclub ones are more like the tein flex type (no preload on the spring) so are a higher end unit compared to the superstreet but are manufactured in china.... Correct me if i'm wrong :)

anyway, i'm very confused what ones to pick or if there are any other brands ppl would recommend?? looked into skunk 2 and quantum but they were a bit pricey.

The set up would just be for the street and occasional fast b road blasts.

would it be worth changing components like lower control arms, camber kits, uprated anti roll bar or new aftermarket wish bones etc at the same time or will the coilovers do me fine??

The suspension is standard at the moment but sits a little high for my taste after i stripped the rear of the car back to the metal and fitted my next x brace.

sorry for the uber long post but any comments would help

cheers.

Cusco on VTEC DIRECT are around that price too.

If it just fast road its not worth bothering with LCA's/camber kits etc, it would be a waste of money. Get a kit that does just what you need, adj height & fixed damping or if you feel you want to crank up the stiffness for a Sunday blast get fully adjustables.
For that money also look at KW V2's, but any of the kits mentioned so far will be ok, sounds like Tein SS will be good enough for what you need and keep some money in your pocket :nice:

the buddyclub n+ are a fair bit cheaper from the states! I have also read somewhere on the forum that tein dont go as low as some people expected. but as said above you wont go wrong with what you have suggested

Not sure if you can get them over there in the UK, but if you can, the Megan Racing coilovers are cheap and every bit as good as the "big brand" budget coilovers from Tein, Apexi, Cusco etc
