Hello :D

Looking for some coilovers for my EK9. It is currently stock suspension.
I will mainly be using it on street/fast road, but also a bit of track day.
I have BC coilovers in mind, as I've read good reviews. And I've read they got TÜV approval, which is prefered. But wanted to get your opinions too :thanks:

- No 2nd hand
- price range: about £400-800
- Don't want it too crashy, but not too soft either
- I'll be lowering it by about 50-60 mm

IMO Bc's are good value, you can adjust the dampers to your liking. Should easily get a set within your budget.

IMO Cusco Zero 2 are really good or if you can find some RG racing or Ohlins. Tein's with the EDFC is a good setup (not supper street).
Dunx

What's wrong with the stock suspension?

Nothing, but think it's sitting too high.

I know changing the suspension to an aftermarket product, might not increase the handling abilities, cause the stock EK9 does the job brilliant. And it will require fine adjustment, to not make it worse. But it's not a track car :nice:

majority of cheaper and mid range coilovers on market dont perform as well as oem ek9 suspension on road and track :nice:

Okay I might wanna go for more expensive ones. Cusco, Tein or so. :nice:

But does any of them have Tüv approval?

id check manufacturer websites to see what approval they have, i doubt jap coilovers will as isnt TUV a european approval ? i maybe wrong

Think it started in Germany and then spread to the world. Read that BC got Tüv

For £800 you could Buddy Club coilovers which is what i'd choose

diff mkt strategy. bc's target mkt inc europe hence TUV approval is important whereas most jdm coilovers ie. tein target mkt r jap, china & US hence iso9001 is more than sufficient.

Saw this and thought I will pop in and clear a few things up.
Be VERY CAREFUL when you see TUV approval, as it doesn't actually mean the TUV approval you need.

TUV is an organisation and they do a lot, and they also give approval for ISO9001 and other quality control management.

The TUV approval you are "thinking" of is a per chassis basis TUV approval, they are expensive and also very bureaucratic, especially TUV Rheinland which is the one that matter.
It is very difficult for suspension manufactured outside of Germany to get a TUV Rheinland's TUV Approval.

You mostly will only see this with bigger OE manufacturer (Koni, Bilstein, etc)

So if a brand say they have TUV approval, ask to see the TUV document for your chassis because if they can't show you, they don't have it!
