Recaro UK apparantly can get the cover only for the XL assuming mine is XL now... I have doubts. They can not get cushions. They where suposed to call me today but didn't.

No mate they are not. They are made to order and are VERY fair for price when you consider they are FULL FIA approved and made to the same standards as F1,WRC, etc etc

Check there website, they are only 8 miles down the road from me.

Willans

Thanks Mate i tried that site earlier but cant seem to find out where i can order them. Maybe im being stupid and its staring me in the face but for the life of me Cant find the Shop.

Do they come ready to install i.e with the Eyelets and Bolts etc

Yes completely ready to install Just ensure you ask for an extra long bolt for you side ones near the doors. The do lots of fitments suitable for diff applications. Best bet give them a call and they can advice.

Any luck on getting a cover ian?? I need one tooooo!

Stevens right by the looks of it type in SPG XL into google images and the slots are completely different. So i can get the full kit for mine you can in black but i would try emailing Recaro direct for a red cover.

Capital seating couldn't get me a XL cover but recaro could and they did not state what colour.

With a bit of luck they'll be able to get a Red cover for your SPG at £89 plus vat.

Ian, long time no speak buddy.

Havent been on for a long while and just seen this again,

All i can say is unbelievable effort. And your interior is bloody awesome.

How you have your harnesses is correct, or its much better than bolting them to the floor :nice:

Quite fancy a set of those harnesses myself too!

I meant the rear seatbelt mounting points, not straight down behind the seats!!!!!

Wouldn't be looping them on the cross bar of a bolt in cage, yes a weld in but hey ho...... The rear seatbelt mounting points are proper welded in spreader plates, any race civic/integra (i know Dixon chengs is the proper way) are fitted like i say

XL spg looks like this, note the massive harness holes and the seat is alot wider

Yours look like normal SPGs like my drivers seat, yours not still got the FIA stickers on the side? They have the model printed on this :nice:

Thanks mate you are a Legend! New cover and seat cushions ordered. :nice:

Would like to see pics of this harness set up. Although i don't think i have the length to go round the cage down to the floor aswell. lol Still should be fine becase i would take a massiver force to break the cage away from the car... Hopfully i'll never find out.... :nerv:

Pics of what????

how you have harness is regarded best for safety ian (attached to harness bar or section of cage which pretty much also acts as harness bar)

Only just noticed you'd updated this mate... awesome progress... looking proper bad ass through the boot. :D

Correct way to mount your harness

Like i say on a weld in cage, use the cage, although with only a bolt in cage i would make use of the 2 redundant rear seatbelt mounting points as they are proper welded in spreader plates, just need a couple of eye bolts

Thats how ive got mine now with the Cage out but if you were to have an accident there would still be massive strain on the seat.

Plus if the accident was bad enough to snap (upto 4 M10) bolts in a cage then it will be bad enough to strip threads on eye bolts

That would likely snap the seat in a front end because the belts are using the seats as resistance instead of using the belt strength.... :nerv:

Round the cage for me! Bolt in or weld in!!!

I work for a manufacturing company and you'd be very suprised how strong bolts actually are. And after seeing some weld in jobs on some cars that have not been performed by a proffesional with a certified qualification makes me very nervous! :nerv:

We have more problems in our manufacturing process with incorrect/unsafe welds than bolts shearing. A weld is only as good as the conditions/material and person that laid it!

Yup hence the need for mpi testing in industry, been to a few vendor visits with work observing testing like that after load tests

Know what you mean though, comes down to preference in the end with where you want to mount it

Was it capital seating that sorted you out with new seat covers?

I think I'm going to be running my harness like that... is it really that bad that it might snap the seat/my back (with a fixed bucket)? I can kinda see how it could be possible.

Is there an off the shelf alternative to this that isn't a full bolt in/weld in cage? :blinx:

Sorry to post in your build thread Ian, just seems like its on topic. :secret:

yes

There is a company who sell Harness bars that bolt between your seat belt mounting points. Im sure Funkypower sell them

Ramboteamjohn on here has one
