Hi All,
I'd like to know either we can use b16A2 chip (mugen Chip) at B18CR engine or not. In case i upgrade block from 1.6 to 1.8.:please:

Im guessing you are talking about the ECU?

The B16A ECU will run a B18CR engine but its not advisable as it wouldnt be getting the correct AFR / RPM limit - but since its only 200cc of a difference its not going to stop it running the engine.

If you are asking if a Mugen chip (never heard of one - prob ebay fake crap) for a B16A ECU will work on a B18CR ECU then prob not - or if it does work - it would also mess up the map and possibly cause damage to engine.

I'm no expert though - just my opinion.

Dont even bother.... You'll fueling will be out for a start. It will probably start and run no problem BUT it will be running a fair bit leaner which wont really matter much at low load but stick your foot to the floor and its another story....

Just get the car mapped properly or use a ITR ecu and you'll be fine :nice:

Thank you Barryl & Rich,
Can we tune the AFR and fuel mapping with VAFC2 ?

My mechanics advice me to use FEELS chip 2000cc (B20B) for my B18CR engine. My Car from EG model, wiring EG.

if you are running b18c r, better run stock ecu, or obd1 chipped ecu and have it remapped to suits your engine.

Ntahlerz,
ECU OBD1 able to rechipped right. So the question is, can we use chip for 1.6 for bigger cc, as i know maping for 1.6 sure different from 1.8 specially Type R.

The answer is simple, yes you can use it. But there is no point to use a ecu that is not made for your engine you'll probably not get the full advantage of your motor with that ecu.

Assuming you live in japan, the best thing you could do is to find a tuner, and get a after market ecu. In japan the apexi power fc ecu is the most popular. But after you find a tuner ask him what he recommends and find a dyno! Hehee.

Vafc2 and all that system have been proven that they don't work at all, just get a programmable ecu like the one - mentioned above.

Hi RVM,
DO you mean VAFC and rechip (Mugen Chip) dosen't work at all? It's mean i need for Hondata in my ECU for full advantage!:)

Pre-programmed 'chips' are rubbish. I could pretty much gurantee those chips have nothing to do with Mugen or Feels, they are just an altered base map programmed on Crome/Neptune with a fake sticker stuck on top.

The VAFC is a gimmick and not a proper tuning tool.

Get a proper programmable ECU or blow up your engine, there's no point trying half measures.

Dammmm!!!... This is why only 171whp. Thanks for advice
:nice:

If you have a stock engine and dont plan on internal work - just run the P73 stock ECU - it has a great map.

Going to PFC / Hondata or any other fully programmable engine management PLUS the time of an experienced PROVEN good tuner will result in you getting the most out of engine and more driving pleasure in every aspect from fuel economy, smoothness, response, part-throttle torque and full-throttle peak power.

It'll work but you'll not get "big" or amazing results, with a full programmable ecu and a good tuner you'll get the most hp of your motor

Hi RVM,
I saw your statement at Integra site (Stock Integra type R dc2 whp
), mention about your engin 171whp, may i know any performance part (VAFC, E-Manage or Hondata) install in your engine to get this value. :please:
