alrite guys

ive just replaced my battery as my other was dead and ive just started driving the ek9!installed the new battery on tues night everything was fine until today!today i tried starting up and nothing!now i have a clifford g5 and i believe its something todo with that!i put a volt meter across my battery obviously at a stand still and 12.6 volts so i guess its ok there!headunit works, lights, ignition beep works, but when i turn the key no warning lights(abs, handbrake etc)!so i think it could be an alarm problem!locks dont work like they should and no chirp on the alarm when i arm and disarm it!
could someone let me know what they think!im trying to contact the installer but nothing!i need the car moving!

Talor

i cant seem to do anything with the alarm!i have blakjack which means i have to put a code in but nothing!the light is either on constant or a while ago was off and nothing!usually flickers when armed!

Does the remote fob for the clifford open and close the doors still? If not then they have lost sync with the brain which can happen to alarms when power is removed. You need to go through a procedure to sync the remote fob with the brain of alarm and that should sort your problem.

yea thats what i think!initially thought it was the new battery!but 12.6volts seems fine at standstill!but alarm doent seem right atall!no luck of the installer as of yet!i need it working for weekend aswel!:angry2:

not really!some times it does but not properly!also doesnt chirp when i lock and unlock!easy todo this or not?i have 2 key fobs will the other be any good?

Have you the manual for alarm? If not go to the clifford website and they have a trouble shooting section.

Try taking off the neg terminal of the battery. Put your keys in the ignition and in the on position. Then hook it back up. This will start the alarm in safe mode. It should solve the problem.

i tried that all that happend when the negative term was connected back onto the battery with ignition on was the blue light inside the car was on constant!still nothing!

Make sure you have fuel and spark, next see if the clutch switch is working, easiest way around this is putting 12v to the starter with the key in the on/cranking position.

i will try jump starting it tommoro with some leads!it has fuel and was working fine yesterday!

try sitting in the car turning the ignition on and pressing the unlock button.then enter the code and if you hear two chirps the blackjack is buypassed.just to see if the keypad is the problem

Well if the blue light came on constant thats it in valay mode. So Black jack will be bypassed. Like blinx said check to make sure your getting spark.

i tried jump starting the car and absolutely nothing, i had the key in the on position aswel!blue light is still constantly on and the doors dont seem to lock and unlock now!also when i first connected up the battery the alarm was set off!now this doent happen!also today no ignition bleep when they key was in!could it be a battery fault with not enough energy to crank the car!its a 36AH and CCA 280 A!i do think its todo with the alarm but could that be down to the battery!like ive said its 12.6v but im not sure if the current is enough to crank the engine!so i dont now how i can check the spark when im getting nothing when i turn the key!

It sounds alarm related. Think you will have to bite the bullet and get yourself down to a clifford installer.

lol its only three months old have the certificate and everything!have left messages with the installer and no reply!just wanted to see if i could do anything myself as i need the car moving!

Ring another installer and explain situation to them, hopefully they will be able to help you out seen as the warranty should be valid.

The voltage your getting would be enough to start the car. Sounds like the alarm has gone faulty. Your getting the blue light constant which means valay mode but it should still churp once when you hook the battery up. Being it has black jack it may have a battery back up. If you can locate the alarm and see if you can find that. You may need to kill the power to the black jack to reset the alarm. I have installed Cliffords for years. They usually work fine with no issues. But when they go bad it can be a pain to find the fault.
