Right I'll be rebuilding my b18 over the winter and fitting it with HC pistons, now I have been offered some SK2 pro 2 cams for a reasonable price.

Now which of these 2 cams has the potential of better power? drivability? etc

Yep definitely, no doubts what so ever. Pro 2's are a nice cam.

Agree on Pro 2's, Ive mapped the same engine with both cams, tuner 2's and then Pro2's. It made significantly more power with the Pro 2's and not just peak, torque was up right throughout the power band. Only down side, fuel consumption will be higher with Pro2's than Tuner 2's:p You'll want 12.5:1 CR pistons for the Pro2's to really shine.

what are the best pistons to get 12.5.1 CR??

just out of curiosity what engine did you have these cams in? mods etc, just so i can get a rough idea of the gains :)

I personally use Wiseco pistons in all engine builds I do. Yet to have any issues with them.

b18c. I've done a good few 1.8's with these cams and they all make in around 230bhp(~200whp), 150ftlb's torque(Dyno Dynamics figures)

Here is dynosheet of one b18c with Pro'2

Spec is;

-Wiseco 81.5mm 12.5:1cr pistons(head was previously skimmed so estimate CR to be closer to 13.0:1)
-Stock rods with ARP rod bolts
-Skunk2 Pro2 cams + Pro series valvetrain
-68mm throttle body
-5zigen 4-2-1 manifold
-Skunk2 70mm catback
-Short ram intake with velocity stack filter
-ATR injectors
-Hondata s300, mapped on 95 octane fuel.

so with some good head work i should see more gain than that? as my set up is very similar to that except on 99 fuel

good topic, out of interest vtec6000 do you have figures for the tuner series cam anc graph? be good too compare, i myself would prefer retainin some fuel economy for my drive to work

Yes you'll see more power with 99 octane fuel. A better exhaust manifold would achieve more peak power

I would have yes, I'll see if I get a chance tomorrow to look back on the dyno database and pull up some graphs of tuner 2's.

my car made 231 on that dyno with pro 2's,head work and wesco pistons altho i need mine mapped again so not sure what ill get out of it ,definatley a good setup

What about the buddyclub spec 5 cams im building a b20 on hi comp 12.5.1 any info would be great please ??

Skunk2 Pro 2's!
Im at 218whp 140tq with them on a built NA setup.

take it you need higher compression to run these properly? so no sticking ek9 pistons in a b18c6 with a thinner head gasket?

^^^correct, higher comp is needed to have them perform as designed.

Any idea what compression you'd see with ek9 pistons in a b18? Shouldn't be far from 12?
