well guys, ive a buddyclub spec 4 on my 9 at the minute and love it to pieces, but i was wondering what other peoples opinion are on these and what systems might be better?? also the system is 2.5" isn't that correct? reason im asking that is the dyno operator thought it might be tooo big for the 9 but i think he was just shocked at how loud it was with the decat and 4-1 mani,
cheers lads,
steve

They arent great
A number of members over on CivicLife have had these fail on them.

to be honest my mate has had three and my opinion is they are shite, they sound **** and performance wise arnt great either, 5zigen is a good system within budget

I wouldn't count on a marked preformance increase by changin system, but there's better systems out there

5zigen fireball ftw.to be honest on type r cars mostly all you will change is the noise i dont think there is much power to be had from systems nothing worth talking about anyway,so just go for quality and best sound which is FIREBALL!!

I run a Spec 4 on the race car and really like it, nice and lightweight and sounds great, although I had to add a silencer as it was too loud for the track :D

thats what i have, a spec 4 but i dont find it loud at all out of vtec!! in vtec thats a different story!! seems a lot of people dont like them just for the sound!! thats ok, as long as its not losing me power im happy

Mine was loud in vtec, but on overun it hit 107db at Silverstone and I was thrown off track, so had to add another silencer to pass noise test in future events. Even with an added silencer its still very loud, although I'm running a built motor so that probably doesnt help.

i had a spec 3 on mine.
mid silencer split after a short period so i got it cut out and welded a straight pipe in its place.
sounded awesome in vtec, stupidly light system too
was loud though
pulled hard in comparison to my current legalis r

I heard they cause deafness.

what????cant hear ya :p
they're grand really i think!!
my centre muffler is rattling a bit now so guessing the baffling is wanked, might cut it out and replace with a straight pipe...would that free up the system more?

well i was right!! the system has a hole in it right along the seam at the back of the centre box, serios amount of exhaust coming out of it!! hopefully this is easily fixed but now the decision is, just fix up the box...or cut it out and weld in a piece of pipe.... what to do?

^^i have a buddy club centre box if you interested..

dont think ive to replace it, jus weld it up!!! but i dont know wheter to fix the box or put a straight pipe in!!opinions?? delighted i made 176 now with a hole in exhaust and timing out!! :drive:
