ello folks was thinking about getting the front brembos and calipers from a dc5 for my 9 is this a direct fit or would it cause me alot of problems??

its not a direct fit but i have seen the callipers on one before

not a direct fit at all, do you do some sort of racing that the 9 brakes are not enough or you going for the looks... mmm brembo's do look tasty :)

not doing any racing just the 9s brakes are a bit pants. im getting 16" alloys would they fit behind 16" how much work are we talking about to get em to fit?:nice:

just get decent discs and pads such as project MU or dixcels and you will be fine,, ek9`s have huge brakes standard anyway

yeh i just want better performance than the ek9 one at an affordable price:)

Once you have upgraded the stock system (which is already substantial for most ek9 owners) the only 3 things to be gained from larger brakes are-
1- looks
2- better heat holding capacity for long excursions at the track
3- Usually more unsprung weight, which is bad

I recommend a good set of pads, I use hawk HP+ for the street, and a full fluid flush and bleed with good fluid. Good fluid would be motul RBF600, amsoil series 600 DOT4, or ATE Super Blue. Stainless steel brake hoses and sticky tires are another great brake upgrade.
If you still get brake fade after doing the fluid and pad change, you can try brake cooling ducts from the front bumper.

dino's got the right idea.

pants...that must be an English term for crap or shitty or something... :p

I guarantee that if you upgrade the pad to a more aggressive compound your eyes will hit the windshield or is it known as windscreen over yonder...?

yeh pants means shitty i thnk im prob going to get grooved discs and uprated pads and ugrade lines to braided

How long have you had the car? Especially for road only use the standard braking system is great, why not just try some new pads before spending more cash than you need to...

Last night I met some dude with an ITR last nite, he had DC5 Brembo brakes and wheels set up. He said they were direct bolt on. He said that people on forums dont know what they talking about lol.
All he used was a wheel spacer.

Is there much performance to be gained from upgrading the lines to braided?

Not as much as some people lead others to believe. However, with the EK9 being almost 10 years old if not already 10 years old, it may be a good idea to replace them.

Tell the guy to come here and show us how it's done then... :p

I'd stick with the standard brake set up? What about a disk/pad combo? I have VTTR Disks and endless pads on mine and the breaks are brilliant! Or what about spoon, endless etc 4 pot calipers?

yeh thats what i think im going to do mate budget wont stretch to spoon calipers but im just going to keep the originals and get uprated dics + pads this is what my chums have done and they work fine :nice:
