b series mini project..

Damn man! You would be able to pick this up. You going to Castle Coombe this year by anychance on the Mini world / magazine event? Think it's next month.

was hoping to have it ready for this but its not going to happen:(

maybe worth a trip up there to watch though, sure there will be a few other b series mini's there :nice:

Yeah i'm going this year aswell, last year there was a B16 mini in white.
It's a shame, would so love to see yours around the track.

i've not been in ages:( about 5-6 years, its a bit of a journey for me!

think its on the 26th sept?

That's correct, it's a good day out! I didn't go last year, but I did the year before that. Just hope it's as good as it was when I last went and hasn't faded out.
There are usally lots of places there to buy bits, new and used. I got a new rear subframe from there for quite cheap.
That was back in the day when I had the Mini. Still be attending this thought. Comming from Cornwall is a hefty trip indeed.

dont think i will be attending now, which is a shame.

need to save the money for other things (something with two wheels):naughty:

not really in a rush to finish the mini now, as it wont be used untill the weather gets better- next year

seen one of these at a classic car meet a while back and the goes out it was unreal!little rocket.fair play looks great was there much work involved getting the engine to fit?

small update for those interested,

not much has been done in quite a while due to other commitments and a months holiday in australia:)

had some spare time last weekend and finally got round to finishing the inlet manifold and wire loom (well sort of), fitted the throttle body's and, after a bit of messing around got the engine started for the first time, no nasty supprises,:nice:

throttle body's need balancing for starters and some attention to the fuel map is needed.

maybe i will finally finish it this year.........

sounds good looking forward to more pictures and updates soon its going to be absolutly mental.

Nice project, ive got a 76 clubman with a metro turbo engine that i planned to put a vtec in but i must say i have got a liking to the turbo engine.

Keep up the good work.

I'll snap some pictures tomorrow, we have a B16A swapped mini cooper at work, it's an absolute riot to drive, though I think on the streets the original RHD Morris Cooper S we have is more fun.

Crack-on lad! :drive:

I see a lot of time, energy and money has gone into your build. Really impressive mate! :nice:

What process did you go through to get to top-coat? I assume you did the painting yourself as I can see some newspaper covering the door in a few pictures.
