Hey guys

I've got an EK9 rear arb to fit to my car, but the OEM droplinks wont fit with my Function7 LCA's as the threads on the droplink wont go far enough through the LCA to get a nut on.
So I'm on the lookout for a set of aftermarket droplinks that will be compatible.

So far I've found out that Hardrace ones wont fit and that Function7 + Blox ones will fit, I'm just wondering if anybody knows if theres any other ones which will fit, and also where i could get Function7 ones from.. dont know whether theres anywhere in the UK that sells them?

cheers

Cheers mate. Any chance you could measure the length of the threads so I could compare them to the OEM ones?

Do yourself a favour and don't get the blox ones, they are garbage and will need replacing within a few months.

Kozy don't worry there is absolutly no chance I'll be putting any Blox parts on my car! If it turns out I only have the choice of those 2 then it'll definatly be the function7 ones

Ok mate, did some measurements for you:

Three washers are 4mm depth, but are domed due to the ball joint.
One washer, again domed, is larger and 12mm at deepest point.

49mm is the thread length on the bolt.
60mm is the total length of the bolt, not including the end nut.

Hope this helps!

x2 DO NOT get blox drop links. you'd be better off using butter!
ASR is the ones i'd go for as the quality is there, not sure on the price these days though.

Cheers for that Josh, I'll measure mine tomorrow and post up the lengths

I measured the droplinks earlier on tonight. The length of the threads is 24mm, and it looks like the length of the actual droplink is around 100-110mm. The width of my lca is 20mm

the asr ones should do the job shouldn't they?

They should be fine mate! If you want them let me know :) even if for some strange reason you buy them off me, go to fit them and they don't fit properly I don't mind you returning them. Let me know pal

Cheers mate, think I may take them off you. Don't suppose you've got any pics of them fitted? Just so I know how they sit

I'm afraid not pal as I couldn't fit them to my car, in using EJ8 rear LCA's which have no holes for droplinks and a DC2 roll bar + avid racing subframe brace. Had to modify my LCA's to fit the DC2 roll bar and basically I can only use these droplinks with EK specific roll bars!

Anyway I did a quick search and thru should fit like this:

No problem pal, that pic actually helps alot, I just hadn't been sure what way round the washers etc were meant to sit

one last question lol, has anybody had experience with the spherical bearings? Just cause the car is my daily driver during the summer and I just wanna make sure they will be durable and not end up wearing out quickly with all the bumps

99.9% sure I'll have these off you thought josh :nice:

Agree with Kozy Blox are shocking, Ive got whitelines on my F7's and they are spot on :) been on for a long time now and still solid as a rock!

If the bolts are too short on any aftermarket Droplinks just buy some bigger bolts ?? as most aftermarket droplinks have removable bolts :)

I had the ASR spherical bearing drop links on my ek9 and they packed in after only a few months. my EK9 is daily drive. they started making a shocking rattling noise! dont get me wrong they looked and felt well good but I dont think they stand up well to the amount of speed bumps and pot holes on out roads! :( I have OEM honda now and they are way better!

Hmm that's what I wasn't wanting to hear Ramsay! Lol

neil where did you get the whiteline ones from?

A know sorry mate, best to let you know tho! they honestly didnt last long at all! come to think of it I dont know why I never contacted ASR to see if they were under warranty and could have got another set because i defo never had them on longer than 6 months! :(

The whiteline ones sound good, try demon tweeks or POTN websites. :)

Cheers for giving me the heads up mate, does sound like the Edinburgh roads would wreck them quite quickly

I'll hav a look there mate :)
