Anyone any intrest in an EM1 race car build?....

are those joints likely to creep when cornering forces come on the top wish bone?

thats a very poor design, if you are having hassle with them i have conversion kits to modify standard honda arms which are 100% reliable you can get up to 3 mm camber per wish bone which is quiet alot.

Post up some pics man! :)

Would be interested to see as well Eoghain!

Over the last few days, i managed to break a steering wheel boss, kink a brake line, ring the threads on one of the bottom shock mounts and break a bolt in the rear left hub, so will get to work fixing all that shortly.

The 2012 regulations were posted out yesterday so i now have to put back in a handbrake, hook up headlights again, install the second wiper and install a new demister fan for the windscreen.
Ive a few other bits and pieces to do with sealing up any holes and stuff in the cabin as well.

I hate to back track on work already done...sorry buddy on your situation.
You will forget it all in the first 60 seconds on the track. :)

sorry i should look back but you have braided hoses in the car now? you could put in a line lock instead of refitting a hand brake...

I'll get pictures later lads and post them. The parts are laser cut from 3mm mild steel

No, im still running the standard brake lines, but im going to take them out tomorrow and fit new braided stuff over the next week or so.

Good stuff, look into a line lock it's going to be slot lighter than refitting the manual handbrake and cables!

Thanks, yeah i will look into that!!:thanks:
I was also thinking of just putting in a hydraulic handbrake. All I would need to do is just get an extra 2 fittings and include the hydro brake in the line going to the rear. Ive a few options available...going to have a look at another circuit car with it done tonight so will give me a better idea of how its done and how much its gonna cost me...lol!

This is just awesome!

Thanks dude!

Update:
suspension back in with new lock nuts and split pins.
New steering boss kit fitted and steering now working again!!
All bolts and nuts in the rear hubs now changed out for brand new ones.
All OEM brake lines removed.
Hydraulic handbrake, Adjustable BIAS valve, fittings and braid line bought. Will start to plumb these in tomorrow.
Roll cage mounted rear view mirror ordered.
FIA rear rain light ordered.
30mm front hub spacers ordered.

Also going to give it an oil change with new Mobil1 10w60 and hamp filter during the week.

Best move the earth strap to the correct place!

what displacement is the engine?

run sock filters, or even just put stockings over the trumpets.
thats what my mate used and it worked like a charm.

IM using 81.25 mm pistons so displacement would not be much over 1800 cc's or thereabouts.

I was actualy thinking of getting a pair of tights and using them as a filter.....but ive got a lot of other things to do first. ;)

Doors are now on.
Fitment is pretty good. :)
Also installed the in car lap timer last night.
Going to put in the drivers and passengers lexan windows shortly.

You can also see the demister mounted. Regs require a mandatory window demister for next year.
