for the money that you have spent on that engine and mods you could of had a b18c type R with more power and money left over

ya I have the engine in ages and just been be doing bits here and there maybe Id be better selling them things and engine and get a ITR engine but that means geting it fitted that would be few quid you no

power ecu form icetronix with a ITR map and other mods to suit what I have already man

I'd get a custom mapped ecu for your car, those power r ecu's aren't great tbh. I have had a fair few guys come to me with those ecu's to have them replaced with a Neptune mapped ecu which is custom tailored for your car on the dyno not a pre-programmed generic map loaded on a chip.

**** hope the ecu wasn't a waste of money was a few quid you no, maybe ill look into getting a dyno and mapping the ecu again to suit car don't really no alot about the ins and outs of it tbh man

cheers for that

its in the car couple months now and seems to be ok man what you think I should do get a dyno see how its running you think will that show if the engine is lean or rich etc

I can add the needed hardware to make the power r ecu mapable with Neptune.
A member on here had one of those power r ecu's and the spark plugs on cylinders 2+3 kept melting the tips! I logged the car and found it running very lean and detonating hence reason for the plugs melting tips like that.

Have a read

those ecu are just a complete guess map, there not worth the tin there made out of

One of my mates said one of the lads he knows had it in his ek9 and then one day its just went BOOM! Detonation! May be worth having it looked over properly as its just a chipped ecu they made up for certain mods.

had a read of that Vtec6000 **** doesn't sound good ,anyways will ave a think about it if I was to ave that Neptune put in her and have it mapped on the dyno what price we talking about roughly a idea you think man

cheers lads for the info kinda wish I hadnt posted the thread now seems to be a bit of bad news for the motor ill look into it more for sure now

cheers lads

ctr cams i believe would help tha power up top since u got sk2 intake manifold just my opinion

I don't believe CTR cams will make a difference enough to justify all the work for replacing the ITR cams. In EK9's both 96 spec and 98 spec B18C cams are found. Worst case scenario: he has 98 spec cams, replacing them with 96 spec cams. Very slight power decrease. Best case scenario: has 96 cams, replaces them with 98 spec cams. Very slight power increase. So it's a risk and even when he gains something it will be so little that imho it's not worth the effort and work of replacing it.

I would replace the dual runner intake for an after market single runner intake. I think you can gain a lot by doing that.

^From what I gather off his original post he has a skunk2 intake manifold already
