So since parting out the EK9 in circa May last year i think it was, gone through a few cars.......

- 2004 Subaru Forester STI litchfield import (300bhp, very quick car with lots of grip! only sold it as the next car came available from a friend)

- 1998 Audi B5 S4 avant (430bhp MRC built car, absolutely loved this, perfect for me for bikes and snowboards etc. ran this alongside the M3 for a bit but was CRIPPLING on fuel so sold it :( )

- 2003 BMW M3 (Nurburgring attack vehicle Mk2, ****ing awesome car and got more plans for it over winter, it's a keeper)

- 2001 Ford Mondeo 1.8 LX (BAD BOY  bought to replace the Audi, free'd up some cash to finish the first build of the M3 and was cheap to run about in. kinda killed it though as started burning oil worse than a shanner B series, sold cheap to a mate)

- 2005 Civic Type R (seriously clean car, drove alot better than expected since everyone seems to slate them. only sold this due to lack of room for snowboards, also wouldn't be the best in the snow)

- 1993 Audi S2 avant

what i've now ended up with to run alongside the M3, i LOVE it.

previous owner fully repainted it (proper glass out job), every suspension component replaced including rear subframe off coated and rebushed etc, all new discs and pads rear calipers/carriers brake lines flexi's etc. engine wise has tfsi coils / decat / RS2 manifold / map, so pulls well and the 5 pot sounds great. wheels just been refurbed with new tyres too

plans? the headlights will get upgraded to RS2 projectors once i can get hold of some. full set of snow tyres going on tomorrow also

for now i have replaced the rubbish tape deck with a sony stereo which looks very oem in there, also replaced the wheel with a wooden nardi and oem looking horn button - spaced a bit closer to clear my knees as the column isn't adjustable

:nice:

Cheers guys :)

I'm wondering how those cars compare to your old EK9

I guess the only one worth comparing is the M3 - it blows the EK9 away in every way possible. the EK9 was at its prime when it was k20'd, the M3 is quicker, corners better, more comfortable, all whilst retaining AC and stereo etc. although i have spent a daft amount on the M3 with more to come.....

comparing lap times too:

knockhill - ek9 63s / m3 60s

Nurburgring - ek9 8:30 BTG / m3 7:57 BTG

Whats it like on fuel ;)

Audi returns 25mpg with mixed driving, on a long run that goes up nearer 30! 2.2L 5 pot turbo so nowt too wild, lots of old school turbo lag too so easy to keep it off boost when you want!

Wondered when you'd post this up on here.

Always loved the look of the S2's. Looks Fooking Clean too! :nice:

Very nice! Bet its a nice place to be and crunch miles aswell

Impeccable taste in cars Steven. Love every one of those...

Your latest is possibly my favorite of the lot. Got a thing for s2's, great winter car! enjoy!

That S2 is lush... The RS2 version of that at the time of release held the fastest 0 - 30 Mph time in the world for any car... porsche were involved in the build i believe..

Dam Steven its hard not to envy your car's. very nice taste you have sir ;)

aye the RS2 has a Porsche built engine (still an inline 5 cyl), hence the Porsche front caliper upgrade on my one!

just dropped it off earlier to have the snow tyres fitted, can't wait to try out the rear diff lock when we get some proper snow :D

Very nice

I saw you reply to the forsale thread for this on audisrs and thought how many cars does he get through!

Someone has pinched the wing mirrors!!!! Love these early audis, had a five pot coupe back in the day and it sounded like nothing else on earth, got pinched still miss it now!!!!

wing mirrors?! was just the RS2 that had the streamline mirrors if that's what you're referring too?

Wishy - haha they are awesome cars eh!!! just removed and packaged up the rear seats today, sports cats / csl rep airbox / alpha N software going in next week :nerv:

Ah rs2 had the teardrop mirrors.

M3 sounds badass, more so with a csl airbox. I have just picked one up myself, hate the stock brakes!!!!

You've had some tasty motors buddy! loving the Audi tho, looks clean as! Bet it will be so good for just cruising in the winter :nice:
