A few problems! :(

Right got alot of things sorted over the past couple of weeks but I still have a rev/idle problem. I have had the duty cycle increased 25% by my tuner, I have changed the plugs, dizzy cap, rotor arm, main relay and earths checked and they are fine, leads are just new and the coil pack aint long been changed either.

What happens when I start the car from cold or when hot idle is fine and no problems but the minute I start to drive then stop at a junction, etc the revs drop to just about 0, engine feels like its gona cut out then goes back up to 1k again then drops again and it does this over and over. IACV aint long been cleaned but could I possibly need a new one? or maybe a new gasket for it?

Have you check your tps voltage at closed throttle and open throttle ? If you still have the stock ecu put it back in, take it for a spin and see if it throws a code.

My idle is sometimes a bit tempremental too now, been bad recently

Not done anything about it yet though as it's only on ocassion............

Yea it just seems to happen now and then. Perfect when driving but when I stop engine feels and sounds like its gona cut out then goes back to normal! Well weird. Will have to go see Henry again I think!

Do either of you notice it happens under certain conditions ? e.g. hot or cold weather

What software is it mapped with? i.e crome, ectune etc

Right my mate Duff has just cleaned the IACV again as it was very dirty so indeed this must be the culprit again but it seems to be getting very dirty very easily! :( is there anything I could try doing to stop it getting so dirty or do i just need a new IACV?

I have just find out I have developed blowing from one of the pipes either side of the decat. Looks like poor metal was used as the decat is rusty after less than a year! :( will get to CAS and get them to replace it like they done with the rest of my exhaust!

Car is getting back to its old self again and should be able to start enjoying it again but only after a small fortune spent, just had all this done in the last 2 weeks:

New NGK laser plugs
New Dizzy Cap & Rotor Arm
New rear D2 camber arms
all wheels balanced (getting tracking done next week)
new power steering and alternator belts
changed engine oil and filter
changed gearbox oil
new Mfactory magentic plugs
new Energy shock bushes, steering rack bushes, LCA bushes and coil spring bushes
Hel braided brake lines
new Clutch master and slave cylinder fitted
bleeding brakes and new DOT4 millers brake fluid
new power steering fluid
Type2 honda coolant
New Main Relay
New front and rear ARB D bushes
New rear lights seals
New interior plastic trims
front arm rests repaired
Air filter cleaned
EK9 RX pedals fitted
alot of waxoyling, greasing, copper slipping and protective work carried out

A bit crazy to be fair but was all needed! :( lol

Bypass the coolant lines 100% from going into and out of the IACV. All you need are 2 hose clips, a coolant hose connecting the "out" coolant line from the intake mani connect back to the block directly bypassing the TB and IACV, but leave the IACV electronic connection in place.

...you could also keep the TB coolant lines hooked up if you are in a cooler climate, and just have the coolant line "out" on the TB bypassing the IACV and going to the block directly.

Either way will prevent it from getting dirty.

The coolant doesn't cause your IACV to get dirty, there is no connection to where coolant passes through and air passes through the IACV, there seperate chambers

Tried fitting my new HEL brake lines today. The rear ones fit ok but the fronts are way to short and will rub on everything and end up bursting over time. Can I get longer ones? any way around this? they are like 10cm shorter than the goodridge ones that are currently on the car!

Adjusted TPS today and the idle problem seems ok now! Hopefully!

is there a chance you got lines for a different model? has anyone had the same issue with HEL lines before? 10cm is a big difference.

Nah defo the right ones for a 96-00 civic. Just not sure if I can get longer ones for th front. Its weird as a lot of folk av spoken said they fitted fine. My mechanic said they would fit but were far too much of a tight fit and guranteed they would rub and chav and eventually burst! I have emailed funky poower who I bought them from to see if I can get longer ones!
