5th gear has no pull

I've had 145 still pulling with 4 people in on my old ek4 in Germany a few years ago. I reckon they would do 150 easy.

On the clock? I had my EK4 go off the clock at 145 and keep going, but I knew it was doing nowhere near that on GPS.

My non savvy passenger didn't though...:D

The clock will be miles out. At 140 its about 4mph out on the civic over 80 compared to me snooper

ive known of some saxo vts's that have touched nearly 150mph on the clocks, it was a case of holding down their foot for God knows how long!

so its probably possible in a ek9

My eg6 with Standard Jdm b16 engine, goes 150 mph, been over 145 mph and still had pull in it.

Everyone needs to remember that top speed is on a flat piece of road and not a hill.
My old saxo 1.1 would go off the clock going down hill, but was defo not a 130mph car!

On a flat straight I have had an gps verified 142mph with my N/A B20, and that was pretty much as fast as it would go! No chance a B16 can do 150!

My mate had a vti with a air filter years ago, and the most he ever got out of it was 135mph, and that was indicated on the cluster so will be slower.

Speedo cluster is never accurate!

So what would the mph be at the limiter in 5th?? Regardless of Speedo reading limiter doesn't lie lol. Don't see why there is so much disbelief. Maybe the air is cleaner where I live. Also was close to winter on a nice crisp night.

Like I said I went 145 mph on the dials, was on a straight road also, jdm b16 engine, custom exhaust, carbon wake co#k intake, stripped car , car weighs around 900 kg as have some carbon parts, lighterwheels, stripped, and is lightweight model eg6

Sounds like you've stripped its brains out!

You need to insert the top speed key , then your mirrors will retract and your good to go

Hahaha

Sure its not your final drive as in 5th is an overdrive gear aka cruising gear not much pull out of it.

The carbon intake can add 30bhp after all.

one of the best reads i've had in a long time.

lmao

bumping this for others to Enjoy haha

P.s i genuinely have a red key here and more than happy to sell it. Best mod ££/BHP turns your car from 112Mph civic into a 150Mph civic with simply the turn of a key :p

Red key? Top speed key? Sorry but you guys are chatting poo.

Everyone knows the EK9 came with 3 keys, 2 black, and 1 red. The red 1 known as the master key didn't allow you to de-limit the car when used in the ignition. Honda supplied a 'Senna' key. This was yellow and had a microchip inside, and when used in the ignition it delimited the car and allowed the ECU to raise the engine cutout/vtec point. Where do you guys think the spoon yellow colour came from?

OP go to Honda and ask for the Senna key. :)
