5th gear has no pull

Hiya all i just got a ek9 facelift last week and in a bit of bother and is really pissing me off from 1st to 4th the car pulls like a train but at 115mph to 5th it bogs down dont sound like vtec is kicking in and is the slowest bag feels like a 1.1 saxo could do me from 100mph any idears on what this could be?
 
Mate you gotta remember your not in a supercharged V8, your driving a 1.6 with very little torque, you could even be hitting the limiter as they do cap the EK9 with a speed limiter
 
VTEC is related to oil pressure. I'd start by checking your oil levels if you havent already.
 
me friends can shoot past 150 with eze mine just wont go past 115 just sits just below vtec in 5th and will not budge :/

no mph my friend recons its my ecu restricting it and yea checked the oil lev all fine think i need to get it de restricted
 
150mph LOL - an ek9 will not do 150mph, what car does your mate drive? A CL63 AMG?
 
Sounds more like a limiter.... but I would never expect 150 from my EK9 lol as said above they are just a 1.6 a damn good 1.6 but top end isn't its strong point...
 
i have not been in the car when he has done this speed just going by what he has said to me i wouldnt like to go faster then 140 init haha,
yea i was thinking i was hitting the limiter its like hitting a speed wall and just dont wana go anywhere haha is there like a fuse what i have to pull to de restrict it or something ive neva had a car what has had this :/
 
You need to insert the top speed key , then your mirrors will retract and your good to go
 
Are u sure the limiter isn't still on?, what air filter are u running? When was it replaced, also check oil as said above, never heard of a ek9 bogging down at 100 mph. They are lose torque in fifth gear on a good day but not usually anything to cause concern? Get a video if possible.

LOL, do you have to do some safety checks beforehand? :D

On a serious note it's probably the limiter. Theoretically an EK9 could do 157mph as that's what it's geared to, realistically it won't get close to that.

im running a top fuel air filter and i just cleaned it all out n looking brand new again i will get a video tonight and post it up
